I think it's better to have a "bad day" against a team that probably isn't talented enough to capitalize on it. I still think we win by 21.

Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call for the team.

My thought exactly. He hates complacency so much that he's happy to see the players learn what results from it, though if we somehow don't dominate the 2d half, it may be a lesson too well learned....
He was surprisingly calm during the halftime interview which tells me he expected this result, and he probably wants it this way so he make the team realize any team can be upset on any day.

We gave up one bad play on defense. Our offense should have scored three TDs right now.
It is HARD to prepare for a team like this as far as our defense goes. You never see it and it's a totally different blocking scheme by the oline of the option team.
Our offense just needs to come out and take care of business in the second half and quit fiddlefartin' around.

Guys, the offense isn't playing that poorly. We've scored on half of our possessions. Take away the turnover, change up the play-calling a tad in the red zone, and we're probably up 21-7 at the half. The defense is the reason we've only had four offensive possessions in the first half.

If we can come out of the locker room, score touchdowns on each of our first three offensive possessions, and have our defense hold them to three-and-outs on their first two possessions then it'll be 31-10 heading into the fourth quarter.

We have had a recent history of starting slow against SoCon teams, think Georgia Southern 2011, Western Carolina 2014, and Chattanooga 2016. We should be fine.

You can blame the officiating, the unfamiliarity with the Citadel's offense, hangover, looking ahead, frustration, but the truth is the Citadel is out playing us on both sides of the ball. It appears they want it more and that is on the coaching staff for not getting them ready.
