After a week off I really expected us to come out with a lot of energy, playing very hard, and running the floor. We have not been doing that at all. This is the only way for us to be successful. That was what we were doing early in the year. I thought maybe we were worn out from the tough stretch, but there is no excuse for this performance. Awful!!!

But the entry passes have to come in the flow of the offense. Most times when we have the ball on the wing, we're staring down the post guy. It's too slow. Think of the number of turnovers we've seen from that (1 already tonight).

The problems with doing this are compounded by all of the ball screens we set with our post guys. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of flex thing happen, where we get the ball to the post to someone other than JG or Gueye.

Our post guys couldn't set an effective screen if their lives depended on it. We've got to get ourselves together, or we'll get whipped on our own court again...

That's what I don't get. I like Coach Grant, but these weak "screens" are just unacceptable. IMO, those are things that don't get corrected in practice and make their way into the games. From what I've seen of him, Hankerson needs more playing time.

As bad was we played in the first half and as bad as the refs called the fouls on us, were only down by 7 at half. Grant needs to light a fire under this teams butt.

I must say - I cannot stand the ole MIss Coach. I have played pickup games with him some years ago in the Birmingham Summers, and I cannot stand him. He was never nearly as good as he thought he was.


And the cab incident a few years ago - no doubt in my mind that cabbie told more of the truth than AK

Agreed, but it's a catch 22. We let an average offensive player at best get his 10 ppg average midway through the first half. Something has to give with this team. Hopefully, we can come out in the 2nd half and dump into Green.

Every team will do this till we adjust or start making plays. Pick and Roll???? Pick and Pop?
