I need some qualification . Is this time to throw in the pocket or after the scramble. or Time to release. if your average release time is 2.09 seconds, you have really fast receivers, or really really short passes or great timing with the receivers.
Probably includes after scrambling

His feet need to be publicly held to fire on that until it changes. It was an awful look. But I dont expect this staff to be here next season, even with buyout. Trust, it will get so bad Bama alums and boosters will find the money to make it happen. Ive seen enough from the second half of the season until yesterday. This hire was a big mistake.
Got tons of respect for you and your insights, but if you really feel this way, what is your plan for the future?

Every Coach and Defensive player should have to buy and wear these shirts all week.

They let this kid run his mouth and get away with it and now he’s cashing in on the moment.

I don’t know how they can even look in the mirror because as usual they clapped back at SEC media days and it was all talk.
Use to be most players on the opposing teams knew better than to “talk crap”. Now they can talk crap and “rub your nose in it”.

This is not just a player problem. This is an organization problem. DeBoer has turned a program built on commitment, dedication, supreme effort and discipline into daycare for spoiled children. I wonder if he made sure all the players rocking thousands of dollars in bling on the ride from the stadium to the airport after the game got their juice box, orange slices and participation trophy?

A fish rots from the head down…..

I get that he’s won everywhere but I can’t help but feel like we got scammed, considering his 2023 season at Washington

8 of those 14 wins were 1 possession games, not to mention he lost to a 3-9 Arizona State team the year before

Which makes me wonder if he even would’ve been on Byrne’s radar if a couple of those games went the other way

Kalen DeBoer's career FBS record is 46-14, consisting of a 12-6 record with Fresno State (2020-2021) and a 25-3 record with Washington (2022-2023), and a 9-5 record with Alabama (2024-Present). DeBoer's overall head coaching record, including his NAIA championships at Sioux Falls, is 113-17.

DeBoer's FBS Coaching Records
  • Fresno State: 12-6 (2020-2021)
  • Washington: 25-3 (2022-2023)
  • Alabama: 9-5 (2024-Present) - 4 of 5 losses to unranked underdogs.
Total FBS Record 37-9.

The only thing we can conclude from this info: DeBoer's done a LOT less with a LOT more while at Alabama.

I'm also beginning to think that recruiting/signee rankings are janked up like they were during the DuBose / Ronnie Cottrell era. Didn't see very many of what the kids call "DOGS" out there this weekend. Guys who want to dominate their opponent on every play every time every game every practice. Guys who hate to lose more than they like to win. Guys who lead by example and don't just talk about "disrespect will be addressed" because they actually address it on the field (and not with stupid late hits). You're wearing the crimson. ACT LIKE IT. PERFORM LIKE IT MEANS SOMETHING TO YOU TO REPRESENT ALL OF US.

Have seen several clips of guys loafing / jogging when they should have been getting after it. UNACCEPTABLE. Get off my team if that's the effort you're bringing. DeBoer is right about at least one thing that I heard him say in his post-game word salad: NO EXCUSES.

Our timing in the passing game seemed a little off (slow) on certain routes. Like Ty was a split second late letting it go (sometimes when he had a clean pocket), but I think most of this (longer time from snap to throw) is because he spent alot of time having to escape the pocket to scramble before he threw it.

Nuss/LSU, on the other hand, seemed to have a plan for a quicker/shorter passing game plan, which is what I thought we'd do with TS in his first game as a starter.

He’s just terrible at LT or RT for obvious reasons, and will never play that position in the NFL. He will need to play one of the guard positions and drop some weight.

We usually talk about matador defense in hoops. I think we now have it on the tape in offensive football.

I can think of about 380 reasons...
Same thing I've said with one of my other Tide groups... He is too big. He has a massive frame, but I think he'd be better at 340 lbs of muscle. He just jiggles all over in that bottom video.

*disclosure, I'm not exactly a skinny dude, but I'm also not supposed to be an elite college athlete who gets to work out every day with the best.

Kane played for Gus at Arkansas and had no clue how defend his former coach’s offense

that’s just wild to me, it’s not like offense changed that much in 20 years, he’s still running some of the same plays he ran with DMC and Felix Jones

Imho he isnt even built to be a LT.
He's too big and slow.
Nowhere near the level or caliber of player we're accustomed too at that position.

Today he said they weren't surprised by anything Gus did and that they had prepared for it during the week

Not sure if I believe him in the first place, and I'm not sure if it makes him look as good as he thought it did to say it

Dan Orlovsky counted 21 "loafs" by Alabama players during the game.

Sadly......not sure you'll ever get someone as discipline-oriented as the GOAT......

I had a boss tell me once, if you walk past a mistake without taking corrective action, you put your stamp of approval on it.
When player loafs during a game and it contributes to an opposing touchdown, and the coach does not pull him, then the coach is saying, "That level of effort is now the standard."
If I was feeling extremely generous, I tell that guy, "Son, that is not the Alabama standard. I want you to sit out the next series so you can study from the sidelines and learn." If I was not feeling generous, then I'd tell that player, "Son, that is not the Alabama standard. You just earned your way to the bottom of the depth chart. Start working your way up, if you like."
