How does Bama get in if Tennessee has only 2 losses. They beat us.

Because there is a 7 team pile up for number 2 in the SEC not just two. Basically the H2H tiebreaker is negated if all favorites win out and only Bama and LSU have a shot for the SECCG vs the winner of the Texas vs Texas A&M game. Tennessee MUST win out to get into Atlanta.

In the 2 loss logjam, there aren't enough head to head matchups or common opponents for those tiebreakers to be used.

The tiebreaker becomes conference opponent winning percentage, which is why the random upsets that could happen are relevant, as they create swings in these values.

Glad I was wrong about the score in this one. Honestly, I would rather take my chances with a first round playoff opponent than play in the SEC championship game. If we were undefeated, that would be a different story.

Ranked in the Top twelve and NOT playing in the SECCG is the same as a first round bye...

i loved deboer after the game saying those 1-2 yard runs we were trying (with the rbs) started turning into 5 and 6 yard runs as the game wore on.
