Not taking Missouri lightly, but who have they played to cause this much angst? Honest question because I haven't watched them play since their first game.

I said it somewhere in the 2nd half game thread but wanted to repeat it:

Williams has got to start making those easy catches that hit him in the hands and should have been clutch TDs or 1sts. He has got to actually block people on runs and screens.

But the main thing I wanted to highlight is that after a few misfires in the first half, Williams settled down and really made some clutch catches that helped us seal the game. He had a couple of them, but the one that really stands out is the catch he made for a 3rd and long conversion at the end of the 4th and how he held onto the ball after getting almost immediately popped. Props for hanging in there across the entire game and I hope he keeps that concentration up through the rest of the season.

It does take 3 atta boys to make up for one Oh crap, just saying

My issue with the Mizzou game is that it was announced today to be an 11 AM kick at their place. Not good. But, on the flipside, it will be another huge measuring stick to where this program is actually at. A championship program will go in there and win that game.

I was at that game, it was Pennington - Avalos. I thought they would kill both of them. We may have had 200 yards of offense that game, Plus fumbled a kickoff at about our 5 yard line. Horrible ga,e.

I think Missouri will be a tough game for sure but it’s also worth nothing their opponents rush defense so far has not been good.

Kansas - 77th
Umass - 120th
Louisiana - 129th

Central Arkansas - 88th…. In FCS

So they may be a really good rushing team or they might just have faced a bunch of swinging gates on Rush D.

But you are right in that either way we need to tighten up bigly on Rushing D

They never lose because the other team was better. Every. Single. Time.

Atlanta radio was as predictable as ever today as well. Barely talked about uga losing. Only wanted to talk about the Failcons win. And just before I got home today a caller called them out and what do they do? Made fun of him, informed everyone that despite losing, uga is still better, informed everyone that kirby is the best coach in college football, reminded us kirby won back to back championships (actually used a slang word for it I refuse to type), reminded us of the losses to Vandy and Oklahoma last year, and the loss to Florida State this year. This bunch is pathetic. I guarantee if uga had won, they would not have shut up about it.

I re-watched the game last night. It's pretty incredible how we won. To not score in the 2nd half and beat a team that simply doesn't lose at home was unbelievable. I don't know where we go from here, but it was very impressive at times on both sides of the ball. We simply made plays when we had to.

Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention, but I was shocked how many times Simpson went under center. Was that for crowd noise purposes, or is that something we will be doing going forward? It seemed to work well.

In terms of problems in the game, we called very early timeouts and twice we laid eggs coming out of the timeout. Again, I'm sure crowd noise was the factor, but we have got to start getting the play calls in earlier with all the pre-snap movement we do.

Vanderbilt is going to be a tough out, but I am not worried about us not being focused on this game, and I'm not worried about the offense. Last year, we could not drive the ball, we just relied on big plays. This year is totally different. We can drive the field and expect to do so on every possession. Keep Pavia on the sidelines.

The under center thing is new this year and is an interesting twist. When we run the play fake, it takes slightly longer to execute the fake, which in turn holds the LBs in place just tad longer as well as making the run/pass read harder. We're using it to hold certain zones open longer. Super fun to watch how we interweave this.

They are going to have to prep for this alignment again. And it’s going to waste time during the week to figure it out. There’s a HS Oline kid dreaming to get the ball and this made a mark in their head. So many positive things for being so ballsy.

Line up for the same play. But as the defense shifts his direction, turn and throw the other way. Use the big guy as a decoy.

If he would have lined up about three yards closer to the ball that would have probably been a TD.

That will definitely cause a TO in a game at some point going forward...
