Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama vs. IU...

At Alabama you dont lose a game in this fashion and your job not be in question. Completely embarrassing for the university and the fans. Staff ought to be utterly ashamed.
What ticked me off the most was our coaching staffs game plan or lack of one & it got worse as we made no adjustments too just slow Indiana down from blowing us out as the butt whipping commenced..

The team is too inconsistent and that is a reflection on the staff. We started off the season getting blown out and book ended it with an even bigger blow out. Then our coach wants to try and convince people afterwards how thin the line is between a win and a blowout. I guess he thinks all Bama fans are as dumb as the Finebaum callers.

Two things about yesterday:

1. Going for it on 4th down in your own territory screamed desperation early. The team feels that. And then when you don't make it, it takes some wind out of your sails. That's a bad feel for the game.

2. Kicking the FG down 24 late in the 3rd when you're still somewhat within striking distance screamed that you've conceded. Again, the team feels that and plays accordingly afterwards. That, again, is a bad feel for the game.

DeBoer:
- Your team is soft
- Your OL is horrible...coaching, technique...all of it.
- Your OC is horrible.....he has no idea how to set things up, he's just calling plays
- You don't demand excellence in all aspects of your program
- You also don't appear to have a great attention to detail
- You've gotten blown out and looked incompetent multiple times in 2 years now.
- L to Oklahoma in 2024 (24-3)
- L to Michigan in 2024 (19-13) - should have been worse
- L to FSU in 2025 (31-17) - should have been much worse
- L to Georgia in 2025 (28-7) - offense was inept
- L to Indiana (38-3) - you were lucky the game clock ran out

We may not be in flux as far as looking for a head coach and revamping the staff again......but we are in flux because DeBoer, while seemingly a good guy, appears in over his head.

Finesse will not work at Alabama.....it leads to getting obliterated by good, physical teams.

We've relied to heavily on QB play. If the QB plays well, everything is great. If the QB plays poorly, we get run off the field. Fix your philosophy.

Losing is one thing....continuously looking like you have no idea what you're doing and the team looking unprepared and too emotional is another. Demand more good sir, from your staff and your players. This is Alabama not Akron.

No more excuses....grind.

He definitely needs to find Saban’s office and take some notes on evening out his ebb and flow: one minute unstoppable, next minute trip coming off the bus.

Kicking the field goal that you needed anyway tells the team you’re confident you will get back down there. The comeback had to start somewhere, and getting points on the board is how it starts.

There’s no excuse for the fourth down play call. I can understand shortening the game and maximizing possessions by attempting short fourth down conversions, but I cannot understand trying to run it when the only short yardage success the team has is with the short passing game.

I believe that you have to give a guy at least three years to demonstrate what he can do. I don't have very much confidence that next year will show great improvement, though. DeBoer seems like a good guy who runs a clean program. I like those characteristics about him; however, I do not like seeing the Tide get manhandled while looking incompetent. I now wonder if he knows what needs to be done and if he will make the tough calls needed to get it done. We shall see, but so far I'm reminded of Coach Sheila. I hope I'm wrong. Roll Tide!

3 years is old school thinking where we had to recruit and train HS players. IU turned from literal bottom feeder to in the playoffs in about 9 months by using the portal.

Kick the FG, you still have to score 3 times to tie....and you give the team that feeling of conceding....and just avoiding the shutout.

Go for it and get a TD, possible 2 point conversion.....you have to score 2 times to tie.

You and I won't agree on this one.

I woke up this Friday morning. My thoughts, you can’t get blown out 38-3 . Scoring only 3 points, and you are an offensive coach is unimaginable. UNACCEPTABLE!

Especially because you need THREE consecutive two point conversions, not just one, to tie your way. Given this team’s inability to convert short yardage plays, I don’t see it happening that way.

We were never coming back, but showing some fight would have been something.....on a day we showed nothing.
