Normally, in August intersquad scrimmages, the defense is ahead of the offense.
Maybe this year, with a lot of first-year starters in the defensive secondary, they really missed out on the spring practice and that hurt them in the first few games. Maybe they are now catching up.
Actually, I've had the same thought. On top of those factors is the fact that offense gets a lot more work in the "offseason" in 7 on 7s, which didn't used to be true. I don't think we'll return to the point where the defense is ahead of the offense at the beginning of spring...

I have heard both Saban and Meyer say that the summer 7 on 7s have changed the sport in giving QBs and receivers a huge edge in preparation. Not sure what we can or should do to help defensive players prepare in a similar way.

Very true.
I would not compare the Bama defense to the Bama offense, but the Bama defense against Ole Miss to the Bama defense in the most recent game (Miss State). I think the Bama D vs.Tenn., UGA, and Miss State has shown lots of improvement. And I do not attribute all of that to Ole Miss' offensive prowess. I think the Bama D has improved a lot as the season has gone on.

I expect the whos to bring their best game Saturday, which may not amount to a whole lot, relatively speaking. But everybody we play seems to bring it, don't they? May the hornet go out before us to prepare the way to smite the enemy. (Love to see us pitch another shutout w/o any injuries. 🙏)
I think they will, but I think if Bama gets a couple of early / quick scores, they'll quit like that have in most other games. This LSU team lacks leadership on and off the field. I obviously hope Bama wins and think they will, handily, but I also hope it's a record-setting loss.

I can't stand Orgeron - he's so stupid he doesn't even realize how stupid (and lucky) he is. He probably even thinks he had something to do with LSU's success last season... SMH...

Agreed. And to add the comments the Ogre made on our field and in the locker room last year will make this one a blood bath if we do get off to that fast start which I expect us to do.
