***Official Premature Tennessee gameday thread***

Well orange and black are the colors of the school my daughter goes to so I have a couple of shirts from when I coached her in softball, but dont wear them except when I coached.

When I take my 3 year old granddaughter out to eat, and the restaurant brings the little pack of crayons and picture for her to color, I make them take out "that color" and bring only red shades. My daughter, her mother, does the same thing. I must have raised her right.

I've always loved the color crimson. I loved it before I decided to go to Bama, even when I was in HS and thought I might go to AU and study engineering. (Have an older BIL who's as close to me as a brother, who went there and influenced me. He even was awarded an honorary doctorate from there.) Anyway, a few years ago, I was in Townsend, TN, camping for the UA/UT game, which we won. All around the campground, you could hear the roars from the Bama fans when we scored. Afterwards, I was going to the bath-house, when I passed several teens, dressed in that shade they call orange. I, naturally, was wearing crimson. As I passed, I heard one of the girls say "That is the ugliest color!" :D

Other than the Florida game I haven't watched a UT game this year. Wanna try and catch that MSU game sure it'll rerun at some point this week.

Here's a summary of what the Vols have been doing so far this year, and what to expect....I hope.

Offense....The rushing game was non exsistent for the first 4 games. Since then they have been running very well. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that our #2 back (Montario Hardesty) in now 100%. There is now balance in the offfense and the LBs and DB's have to respect the run. As for the passing game, Ainge has been outstanding. The best part of his play is not that he has thrown for a lot of yards or TD's, but it has been his ability to read defenses and put the offense in the right blocking schemes and get the ball in the open field. UG players said they could tell Ainge knew exactly what they were going to do as soon as they lined up. Erik and Peyton talk often and a lot of advice is thrown is way. Cutcliff says he is playing as well as any QB he has ever had. Big words considering the company....i.e. Peyton, Eli, Shuler, A. Kelly, etc. The Vols will put up points...no worries there.

Defense...was HORRIBLE first four games. After the talk of firing CPF and message boards and news articles slamming the players, a spark has been ignited. However, they still tend to give up big plays here and there and still are not tackling as well as they should. Chavis has said he has made the schemes more simple, and is letting the guys just play. It has seemed to work well the last two games. The are still by no means a shut down defense.

Special teams....Colquitt is back an thank God for that. Bama has good return guys and there is a lot of focus this week for that. UT introduced a new spread punt formation that seemed to really work well vs. GA and MSU.
Daniel Lincoln has been great so far. He leads the SEC in FG's and Wilhoit is barely missed.

Of course I hope for a blowout, but won't be surprised if it's a tight game.

Is your Colquitt related to barner Colquitt?

I own NOTHING orange! I wear nothing orange! Don't like "em can't stand 'em...despise losing to 'em. I will leave that game hoarse ........I will do every little thing in my power to aide a Bama victory. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Our flower gardens don't have orange flowers. When someone tries to say a flower is orange we reply no that color is copper or bronze but not orange.
