Official "What Ohio State fans are saying about the matchup" thread

I tried to have a decent conversation a while ago on Buckeye Nation. Not my best decision.

Your trying to have a decent conversation is your good decision. Their response was their bad decision. Contrast in character is right out there for everyone to see.

as many red necks in Ohio.

This is correct. and the U.P. , upstate NY, western Pennsylvania , or Southeastern California, and in most every state. The south doesn't have a monopoly on that.

I made a comment to B1GTide, and I will say it again, I hope this stays civil I remember how Bad things got between Arky and OSU.

What happened between Arkansas and Ohio State fans???

I've been through Ohio. They are every bit as country/ag based as Alabama. Just don't have the accent.

I'm hoping most of those negative posts come from teenagers or people who haven't learned anything since adolescence. I don't let people like that get to me.

The redneck, trailer park, incestuous, and dental jokes are applied broadly by smug people regardless of region. People in Southern states make the same jokes about other Southern states. Even city folks make fun of county folks in the same state or county. It's pointless, unfunny and cliche.

Ever hear the joke that Pennsylvania is Philadelphia on one end, Pittsburgh on the other and Alabama in the middle?

Well, if northerners having bigoted opinions about how backwards southerners are and they do not move to the south because of that bigotry, that's a win as far as I am concerned. Let'em think what they want, as long as they stay put.

There is no differentiation between the parts of WV, OH, and PA that are in proximity. The only way to tell the difference is by looking at the license plates, and hoping there is a majority of one state.

Once you get in the hollers, of WV, is it obvious where you are.

The difference is in the accents, trust me, I live here.

I'm just hoping OSU fans aren't like Michigan fans. Michigan fans gave us so much crap that didn't even pertain to football and were very vulgar about it. They were worse than auburn and lsu.

I'm not passing judgement on OSU fans since I haven't watched a game with them, and I'm truly hoping those remarks don't reflect their crowd coming to NOLA. But it isn't very comforting reading those threads. Here's to hoping

Well a lot of ND fans were the same way.

I've been getting text and Facebook post all day from my family and friends in Ohio, some whom I haven't heard from in years. They didn't start with, "how have you been" or other cordial greetings, just straight up "we're going to obliterate you hillbillies!" So here's to hoping the squad has the cleats laced up for a very thorough curb stomping.
