Why couldn't OU run it in from the 2??

Not sure if you saw the series or not. But Mayfield took a sack that dropped them back about 10yds.

If you meant why did they even try to pass from the 2 instead of run, well, dumb cutesy playcalling at the goal line seems to be the new fad in offensive theory the last couple years. I guess if it worked it would have been brilliant though.

Absolutely amazing catch. I'd still like to know if one hand pinning the ball to another's back is considered possession? The receiver got that other hand on there at the end. But a one hand pin? I simply do not know.

He had pretty clear control of the ball, and we know that doesn't require 2 hands. We have seen a number of these over the years, so they are all clearly legal.
 
I have to admit, btw, when I read the thread title I read "Chokelahoma" for some reason.
