Just spotted Trev Alberts on CSTV. I'm so hungry for football I'm watching the C-USA media blitz and there sits ol' Trev. Glad to see he landed on his feet. He always had a good word for the TIDE while he was at the evil empire.

I've always liked Trev I met him a few years ago at my high school's FCA when he came to speak he's a great guy and stayed around for hours signing things and talking football with anyone who wanted.]

I agree. He said it like it was. I also think it was him that said in 2004 when Auburn was making their undefeated run, "Its Auburn, they'll find someway to screw it up." That alone makes him cool in my book.

refresh my memory.....

what did he do to loose his gig at espn?
I remember reading about it a while back, but can't remember what he did now.
Getting old I guess. They say that your memory is the second thing to go......
What's first you ask? Hmmmmmm I can't seem to remember :biggrin2:

Something about he was dissatisfied about not having a large enough role in the college football broadcasts. They had the on-campus team with Corso/Fowler/Herbstreit, and the in-studio team with Reece Davis/Mark May/and him. Then there were various guests all the time like Granny and company. So, if I remember correctly, he actually quit (or was forced out?). I thought he was a good foil for Mark May's commentary.

And then to express his dissatisfaction, he just didn't come to work one day...I think that was the "straw"...

Well, personally, I like Rece Davis who is a Bama Grad. I like Mark May, sometimes, but only sometimes. I can't stand the ramblin' granny, Lou Holtz. Put that guy in a crib with some ginger snaps and let 'em go. Keep him out of the commentary circle. And Trev Alberts was good. Though it seemed he was always laughing at me from inside the tv. Did anyone else get an uneasy feeling like that? :conf2:
