Old Man Rant About Ticket Prices

The plain and simple truth for me (I’m in my mid60s) is I can’t handle the drive there and back plus the game day experience physically. Been going since the Coach Bryant days. It’s a lot easier now to participate from the recliner. Plus, we can sync up Chris Stewart with the picture and enjoy it that way.
That's my position as well. The physical toll probably hurts more than the financial...but $200 plus face value still shocks me.

He didn’t knock up a girl his best friend had a crush on and ditch her when she asked for half the abortion money?
That escalated quickly…not sure Spicoli’s Dad’s tool were ultimate either, still dig the movie.

I have been to Vandy, UT and UK to watch Bama play several times but have not attended a home game since the 89-90 season. Would love to go but it’s a long drive from Ohio.
You should go…It’s getting expensive but it’s sensational!!!
Sometimes there are decent flight prices…it is an expensive weekend though.

Maybe with "private equity" starting to be a part of the equation, ticket prices will stabilize or even go down. Athletic departments for the most part are not good at making money. But, with like most businesses extra costs are passed on to the consumer.

I agree. It's worth it every now and then. I think there are ways to keep the cost down. I'd drive to avoid car rentals and having to stay in B'ham or T-town.

Staying in bedroom communities outside of Bham/T-town like Anniston, Cullman or Jasper will save some money too.

And I've never paid for parking in T-town. If you are willing to walk 15 minutes to the stadium there are places to park for free.

Go to the food court and eat Chik fil A or Panda Express or go to Rammer Jammers to get a cheeseburger to save on food.

You'll still spend money, but outside the ticket and hotel prices, you can get in and out of town for less than $100 for the day.
