I agree. This new kickoff rule looks silly. Just go ahead and make a new rule that after each score you start on the 25 yard line if it's about players safety.

how our onside kicks handled in the NFL now with the new rule?

No onside kicks until the final five minutes. They must be announced beforehand to the officials, and some other strange rules. The NFL apparently does not like the onside kick, but they did not quite kill it.
