My prediction is that he will be to Tennessee what Pat Dye is to Auburn.
Phil Fulmer isn't man enough to be Pat Dye. :eek2:

Somebody told me today that Al Davis was going to hire him to coach the Raiders. Sounds ridiculous to me!
That actually kinda makes sense. It would be a match made in...well...somewhere that isn't exactly heaven. :biggrin2:

I agree, I think Tennessee did him dirty the way they have handled this year. It does not suprise me, they are pretty dirty anyway.
How did UT do him dirty? Look at the state of our program. It is obvious he needed to go. I would have been ok with him retiring/getting fired after the '05 debacle.

I do not think he will land anywhere close to a "high profile" coaching gig. But who knows? We used to be able to out talent other teams. Now that other teams have stepped up to superior coaching staffs, his shortcomings as a coach shine through. UT simply needed to "keep up with the jonses" so to speak.

He did an excellent job in my opinion and I would like to see him stick around for a while to help the new coach(please NOT Lane Kiffin) adjust to the surroundings and hardships of the SEC and things like that.
k-town - We're in agreement on your point re CPF staying on staff at UT to "help" the new coach. That's my dream scenario. Unfortunately I suspect this idea won't get any traction within the UT administration.

With all due respect to Fulmer, I hope he lands far away from UT's new coach!!!

Please take this color and the font while you're at it, and drop off at nearest Tennessee boarder. I think I'm blind now.

I have no idea what the man wants to do. But I would expect him to be able to find a head coaching gig pretty easy if he wanted to go somewhere after this season. It looks like its going to be a pretty wild off season as far as the coaching carousel spins. Its always good to be watching it spin from the outside though. :)
