Ya got to slide down the line and stay at home with the triple option and don't go with the first movement of the QB.

Bama tries FG's again.....makes 2 Bama 27 Ga. So. 6 I think we score enough, but won't want to get anyone else hurt. Reserves come in quickly.
If Bama only scores 27, the offense will have played very poorly IMO.

I respect your loyalty for your team. They are having a good season. However we are not dropping two in our house. I say you guys might start out decent but will wear down.

The TIDE (Crimson) rolls 51-7.

56-10. Bama jumps to a 35 - 0 lead at the half and we score a late td against their 3rd or 4th string. No one gets hurt on either team and we both win the national championship this year!!

Alabama is a 31 point favorite against Ga. Southern, 28 points based on the Sagarin ratings and add 3 more for home field. That said, I have watched with interest all of Alabama's previous games, including their "blowout" wins against Kent State, North Texas, and Penn State. Alabama's offense is not explosive enough to score 50 or 60 points against anyone, and we have a couple of All-American linemen and good DBs (imagine Southern Miss' defense for a comparison). Our offense, with the Triple Option, looks like Ga. Tech or Navy, but it started at our school in the 80's and Coach Paul Johnson then took it to Navy and Tech. Realistically, I would think that we will score 17 while Alabama scores 42 and, with about 5 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter, the game is out of reach. That has been a typical result with our teams versus top 5 FBS opponents in the past. (UGA-48-28 in 2004; Auburn 32-17 in 1991; Florida State 28-10 in 1988, Navy 13-7 last year, Oregon State 49-42 in 1999).

The difference maker, as always when we play a top 5 FBS school, is that your lines go 4 and 5 deep, while our hogs will get tired and have little or no substitutions. Many of our skill players will surprise you in that their speed and ability is every bit as good as an SEC program, but maybe they are a bit shorter.

P.S.-our kicker, Senior Adrian Mora from Dalton, Ga., is an All-American who is setting all kinds of records. in Division I Football. Alabama and Tennessee among other big schools recruited him, but wanted him to walk on as they did not wish to "waste" a scholarship on a kicker which is the policy of most biggie schools. I'm thinking that after the LSU game, you Red Elephants might want to re-think that policy. We gladly offered one of our scholarships to him, and we get about 20 less than the big schools do.

Not counting the 48 we scored on Kent State and the 52 we scored on Mississippi of course. And that's while reaching deep into the depth chart during the second halves to get the threes some experience.

Realistically, if we didn't have the tendency to take it really easy once the game was well in hand, we could've scored over 50 in another 2-3 of the games we played. But I'll give you this: Georgia Southern's a good team as far as FCS schools are concerned and is likely better than almost half of the FBS crowd. Considering that we don't run up the score and will likely get loads of experience for our backups in this game, I like your prediction of 42 for Bama.

Though I admire your school spirit and optimism, I find it a bit amusing that you think it's realistic to expect that Southern will score more on Bama than Arkansas, Florida or LSU did - in fact more than anyone has this year. You do realize that no one's scored more than 14 on Bama this year, right? That in 10 games, only 3 teams have reached double digits? Good luck on those 17 points.

Woah, bud. Are you trying to get suspended from the site? Some of your comments indicate you are.

Your facts are pretty wrong. We have several scholarship kickers on roster now. Maybe Bama didn't offer Mora a scholarship, but the TIDE has scholarship kickers and has one on the way.

Our team can score 50 or 60 if Saban wanted to. He won't, though. He's got more decency than that. Did you watch the Capitol One Bowl last year? He was upset when Eddie scored to give Bama 49 points! He's not the type of coach to run the score up.

You say Bama has some All-American lineman and DBs. You forgot LBs and RBs.

Before you come making comments like "Red Elephants," why don't you get your facts straight?

We had to try VERY hard to not run the score up into the 50's against Kent State, North Texas, Tennessee and into the 60's or 70's against Ole Miss. If you have watched our games this year like you say you must have not watched much of the 4th quarters of those games. If Georgia Southern scores 17 on Saturday it will be more points than any team has scored against us in our last 11 games. Arkansas is the only team that has scored more than one touchdown against us in our last 11 games. We've given up a total of two touchdowns in our last five games. If you score 17 I'll be very surprised and impressed.
