Penn St.'s offense isn't very good, and I imagine that we will play a lot of second and third team players. I highly doubt that Coach Saban leaves the first stringers in just to preserve a shutout when we are up by forty points. That is how UNT may get to 10 points. Then again, maybe our second and third stringers can hold them scoreless. That would be great. I will stick with 51-10 for now, though.
Alabama's third stringers should be able to shut these guys out. Most of the backups at Alabama would be starting at other SEC schools. North Texas ranks 100 or worse in eight different categories, both offensively and defensively. Sorry, but I have faith in our team to shut these guys out. The only way they will score is if one of the QBs throws a pick six like in the Kent State game. North Texas is going to have serious trouble moving the ball offensively.

So you don't think Bama covers the spread ? The spread is 45 1/2. I think Bama covers easily. We beat this team 53-7 two years ago.
Not the OP you refer to, but I honestly don't think Bama covers this week (one reason I never want to bet on Bama unless we're underdogs). Our offense is not a quick strike offense (we can break big plays, but it is not the backbone of our offense). CNS isn't going to take big chances in this one or run up the score. UNT might not be very good, but we can probably milk the clock at will with run after run after run. CNS has nothing to prove; we'll get a comfortable lead with our starters, pull them out and get our backups some game experience.

We beat them 53-7 two years ago. That's running up the score and our offense that year wasn't great. Alabama's offense hasn't done anything but vanilla playcalling so far. No wildcat, no real deep down field passes. They're going to have to start practicing that stuff before Arkansas comes to town. Not that covering the spread is important, but we should cover this week. Bama wins 52-0. North Texas is a really bad team. Worse than Kent State and possibly the worst team on the schedule all year.

I was going to ask if N. Texas was a worse team than Kent State. I don't know much about either team.

Bama beat Kent State 48-7 and we didn't play well at all with the multiple turnovers. If not for a pick six we shut them out anyway. North Texas is worse than Kent State. Kent State had a pretty tough defense. North Texas is not that good. Bama should put up a lot of points and get some things worked out. At least I think so.
