HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)
Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)
if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!
I can't see Ole Miss scoring unless we give them a very short field - and even then they will be challenged. I am terrible at predictions, but I'll give it a go.
I think against Ole Miss this weekend we take a step back in time. Like back to 1973 when we beat Virginia Tech (then known as VPI) 77-6. I know, we haven't scored that many in a long time. I just think we are that much better than Ole Miss this year. And, this Sunday is the first time the BCS rankings come out. I think we make a statement.
Realistically though, the way we play ball control offense and stifling defense, a 62 - 6 type score is more likely. We put 62 on Duke last year, and they were miles ahead of this Ole Miss team offensively.
This is really a hard game to predict considering Vandy beat them 30-7 and how much better we are in every area. What will dictate the score is how bad Coach Saban wants to beat them, and I predict that he would like to put the game away early with our balanced offense and then coast running the ball and playing some depth without running up the score too badly. The odds that we lose are probably 1 in 100 considering that we should be able to score on them 75% of the time to their may 10% on us.
We could beat the pulp out of them but I see 45-7 playing them at half throttle for the second half of the game.
If Bama stomps a mudhole in Ol Spit, then to me it means this team will not let anyone get them off their game. The bears-that-used-to-be-rebels have played Bama really tough in recent years, most times tougher than Vandy. If Bama beats them senseless, then I think it bodes well for everything that follows.
Bama is allowing an average of 7 points a game. Arkansas has scored the most points at 14. Bama is allowing, what, less than 40 yards rushing per game on average? Unless Ole Missy scores some almost free points while Bama's third string defense is in the game in the fourth quarter, it will be:
whatever Bama decides to score / Ole Missy 3 (more likely 0)
My numbers are 56-3 for the Tide.
I just hope CNS gets our guys to focus coming out the gate this time. They probably will with it being a road game and what they are hearing in practice this week. I do expect to Ole Mis to try all the tricks in the book. It would be nice for the starters to come out focused and play to a 40-0 lead so our backups can get playing time.
I had an Ole Miss fan tell me today that they were going to cause us to lay an egg. We're not even suppose to score according to him. I'm still laughing. I predict 48-0, that's 48 for Bama and 0 for Ole Miss. I may not be able to watch the destruction as I'm on the fence between that game and the Navy Ball.
Let's see, according to articles I have read, old Hootie is slobbering over our O and our D, their LB's are not intimidated and may come out with a win and it's at their house. This one's going to be close, he's always good for one game a year but in this case.......No. It will be Bama 42-3
Another week. Another win. Now it's time for our next victim. I figure this game to be somewhat easy, but they did have an extra week to prepare. I still think we win and win big.
Ole Siss, like most of our opponents, save their best game for us. I'm going with that line of thought, so UA 31 UM 9. First half zzzzzzzz...Second half pow, pow, pow...., just like Vandy game.
