That turkey is going to make me too sleepy to make a thread tomorrow, so let's do it tonight. I want to see us put together a complete game with Ty Simpson returning to form. I want to see the defense continue to progress and force a couple of turnovers. Can we get a comfortable win for once? I think so

Alabama 31 Auburn 17

I hope you are correct, but I don't see it. I see them controlling the line of scrimmage, stuffing our run, pressuring our QB, and taking advantage of a crazy atmosphere at night and us losing another late season road game that deflates our post-season chances while lesser teams with better records due to easy schedules march toward titles. Throw in some ridiculous reviews and a targeting or two that punishes good defense and that sums up what college football has become. I hope I'm wrong and that we whip the barn and Vandy whips UT and that the SEC gets Bama, UGA, Ole Miss, 8&4, OU, and Vandy into the playoffs. That would restore my faith in college football. Roll Tide!

Totally agreed on paper. The problem is that these metrics were very similar in ‘21 and ‘23, and it took 4 OTs and a highly improbable hero play, respectively, to win those games. In fact, you could make a solid argument that our ‘21 and ‘23 teams were better than this season’s team.

This game is just that - nonsense - when played in JH for the better part of the last 20+ years.

I’d love to see us win this one by 10-14 points and lead throughout as the metrics suggest we should, but nothing about this season’s team or Auburn’s losses (which were all close) leads me to believe that will be the case.

I won’t make a score prediction but it won’t shock me to see us trailing by 4 points with six minutes left in the game with a chance to drive the field to win it. I’m afraid we are in for that type of game.
