Pick the score: Washington vs. Alabama

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

I think Washington's defense is a little better than most are giving them credit for. Good enough to win? Nope. But I don't see us reaching our average 40.5 ppg.

Washington gets a late trash score, but Bama wins handily 27-17, and the outcome of the game is never really in question.

Here is another thing that people forget the Ga. Dome is going to be 80% Bama fans and 15% UW and 5% who got in the suites free. It can be a factor for the UW offense. 42-16

Washington's offense averages 477 YPG...which is very, very good. However, our defense only gives up 247 YPG, most of that being in the air. Despite us giving up so much in the passing game, teams rarely find the end zone against us as we all know. On the flip side, Washington's run defense gives up about 124 YPG on average, which as we all know means a very good percentage of victory for the Tide. We are averaging 245 YPG on the ground so far, which is the best of any team coached by CNS.

My prediction is:

Alabama 38
Washington 17

It will be 24-17 going into the 4th quarter...with the Tide scoring a few TDs late to seal the deal and head to Tampa. One of these late TDs may very well be a NOT.

Bama 45 - Huskies 20

Game plan should be RUN THE DANG BALL keeping UW offense sidelined AMAP. As I understand their secondary is above average so we won't go deep very much.

They'll score or get in position to score on a trick play busted coverage kinda deal. Then the front 7 will take over and it's gonna be a long trip back to the cold northeast.

I think the score will be closer than most think. I hope we meet the spread though. Each day I read the practice report on al.com, I see another player injured, this time Keith Holcombe. With all the injuries on defense, having to possibly play backups with little to no game experience v the Washington offense is a bit concerning. This will be the best team we have played all year. I know that is the same for Washington too, but I think we have more starters injured than they do. This has been a bad year for injuries... I hope we have no more injuries!

Bama- 27
Washington- 17
