Plain Trouble on "Da Plains" (all AU posts here)

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Gus would negotiate if he wanted out. If all support is gone, he might want out. But I expect to see him back for next year; with a big name QB transfer and lots of excitement over it. In other words; SNASS
How do you negotiate down a contract stipulated buyout?!? BOTH parties would have to agree to that and I don't see Gus or his agent agreeing to that...:rolleye2:

If they fire Gus, it’s specifically to hire Lane Kiffin.

If Lane would get the AU job it would be another stop on his weird career of falling into high paying jobs. Raiders--fired
Tennessee - left
USC- fired
FAU- failing (3-5 this year.)

Don't count out Hugh Freeze. There's a good bit of talk on barn boards although most of it is about him as a OC.

I have read that as well and I actually think he would be a major coup/get for the barn.

If I’m Gus I tell them to give me $25 mil and I’ll walk. That’s more than enough to retire to South Florida or the Bahamas and be set for life.

Moozan will never let that happen. He had his high school QB and the former head coach at Colbert Heights high school as his “OC.” The latter was “found” by a search committee. Pure stupidity has gotten them in the mess they’re in.

For real. We can afford his buyout, though we would likely negotiate it down.

There are some rumbles from insiders that he isn’t as safe as some of the administration are making it seem.

Another 7-5 regular season and those rumbles will grow to 7.5 magnitude.

The major question is, if Freeze is the target as OC, does Sankey step in an squash the idea? Remember Sankey stepped in when Saban wanted to add him as an off field position as an analyst.

Got the feeling Sankey would say “no can do”.

I have the opposite feeling—I think Sankey would break his neck looking the other way.

I’ve heard it said in some circles that Sankey is against letting Freeze back in the conference in any capacity at least until Ole Miss is off probation which i believe is after the 2019 season.

One thing is certain. Chip Lindsay will be looking for work.

He may be against it, but he will get sued and lose if he actually tries to enforce that.
