The last two from Butler, approx 6 years ago appear to be the last of the North AL group of football players at Bama. And I think this next year we are getting the good one from Decatur. This only is just from memory. I know our HS teams appear to be much weaker and have less players than most but surely soccor has not taken completely over. There was a time when N. AL furnished players in great numbers to the University.

I know that Darby and Ramzee Robinson were from Huntsville. This year, Wesley Neighbors has already committed.

10RC has been raiding the pantry up here while we've been down. The University of Auburn has gotten some of the better ones too, particularly in the Russellville area. That will change beginning this year, IMO.

Being from Huntsville, I can't wait to see more N AL players at the Capstone. We've had way too many players going to AU and UT for my taste.

This past Feburary saw Rolando McClain from Decatur, as well as Alfred McCullough from Athens.

There is also a big time recruit from Gadsden - Jerrell Harris. Ali Sharrief is from North Jackson High School, which is almost on the Tennessee line. Also S Marcus Carter and Aaron McDaniel from Fort Payne. Thats just the players I remember from my neck of north Alabama's woods. :smile:

In some instances, I stand corrected. Maybe, being from Huntsville, it is just the 5 HS's here that is lacking. I hope to see that change and hope we are developing the players, if we are, Saban will get them!!!!!!!!
