If you take today we look terrible BUT.... we didn’t look as bad as any other team in the games they lost, either save perhaps Auburn.

Undue emphasis on today and we are done. If the threshold is one of the four best I think we are in.
After all, Auburn blew a 23-7 lead to LSU, a team we beat

Miami loses bad to unranked Pitt

Ohio St gets destroyed by unranked Iowa

I think we have the best lost of the 1/2-loss teams but since we're not playing for a confrence title, Idk if that bodes well for us

My problem with this committee is that they seem to ignore losses in Sept. and Oct. Losing and who you lose to should matter just as much as who you beat. I was saying the same thing last year when arguing in favor of OSU getting in over a 2 loss conference champ. Now I get to make the same argument for Bama.

I don’t think a 2 loss team should ever get in unless there are less than 4 undefeated/1 loss teams left. This includes AU IMO.

Last year PSU beat OSU and won there conference but, OSU got in instead because they only had 1 loss. No way a 2 loss OSU gets in over a 1 loss Bama and IMO a 2 loss barn shouldn’t get in over a 1 loss Bama.

Clemson, Oklahoma and OSU all have lost to unranked teams. That has to hurt them more then Bama losing to #6. If this committee wants to be fair at all then Bama has to get in if OSU or TCU wins next week.

Those of you saying Bama doesn’t deserve to go, what kind of Bama fan are you? I don’t care if Bama is 0-12, I would still wish for a miracle playoff birth. We are not AU, we do not live or die with the IB.

If I remember correctly, Penn State beat Ohio State and won the conference championship and still didn't get in. If the committee were consistent that means Bama gets in over Auburn.
PSU played 3 good teams and lost to two of them while OSU beat 4 good teams and only lost to 1. So it wasn't that simple. But I wouldn't complain if Alabama went in ahead of OSU this year.

There is still a chance. We gotta see where CFB playoff will rank us. Clemson is still ranked because they said injuries played a role. We'll see where we are...

They will not put two SEC teams in the playoff.

Are you sure? Let's say that Auburn beats Georgia (again) in the SECCG. That leaves Auburn and Georgia with two losses each, while we're sitting here at 11-1. So how can either of them go ahead of us? In fact, how can Auburn be put ahead of us anyway, since they already have two losses and we have only one?

You can't be serious.

Oklahoma lost at home to a team playing a LB at QB. And gave up 40+ points to a Baylor team that lost to LIBERTY U. Let both of those facts sink in and try to rationalize how they deserve to be in over a team whose only loss was on the road to the #6 team.

Auburn would be in based off beating two #1 teams in 3 weeks, plus if Georgia jumps in the top 5 and loses again, that will be 3 top-5 wins, more than anyone else in the country

Well thanks... of course OSU lost by 31 to an unranked team and by 15 at home.

It actually is a valid argument, just one that the committee isn't likely to make. I'm old school, losses used to matter more. Now, we're looking at two loss teams and just casually discussing them jumping one loss teams. Power 5 teams mind you! Look, Auburn beat Alabama. Ok, Alabama beat LSU, who beat Auburn. But, Auburn also lost to Clemson. Does that not count? That's the issue, that somehow a loss is getting erased like it didn't really happen. If the Clemson loss gets erased, because they're one of the top teams, why can't the Auburn loss get erased to? In which case is Alabama an undefeated team and Auburn a one loss team? It's just hard to follow the logic that says 2 loss Auburn belongs ahead of one loss Alabama.

I keep thinking Bama doesn't deserve to be in with one loss but then I think, "who does?". The bad part for Bama is the wins are not against a good schedule or any highly ranked teams. The good part is the only loss for Bama is to a very high ranked team while most other one-loss teams have lost to lesser opponents. Another thing going against Bama is not being able to play in a conference championship game (and winning) in order to pick up a good win.

Are you kidding me? Even if an Auburn win might put us in the playoffs with a chance for another NC, you can't bring yourself to do that? Auburn has two losses, Georgia has one. If Auburn hands Georgia their second loss, then you would think that a 1-loss Alabama would be ahead of them both. Granted, Auburn beat us head-to-head, but for all it's worth, we also beat a team that beat Auburn (LSU).

That's why I wouldn't complain. For me, I believe that 2 loss P5 teams should be ranked behind 1 loss P5 teams even if they have a head to head victory. Every game still matters to me.

We have a decent shot. I wouldn't bet on it but we only need a break or 2. To be honest I have no interest in playing Auburn again this year or OU. OU's D is pretty trash but their O would give us a ton of issues.

OU might score 28 points on Alabama, but Alabama would score 50 on them.

Idk 28 seems really low. They have a good running game too. I think it could turn into a Texas A&M style game. I think we could win but it'd be my least favorite type of win.

Any argument for us going ahead of Auburn is invalid (assuming they win the SEC champ). They beat us by 12 points in the last regular season game of the year. And, if they beat UGA, they will be SEC champions.
Head to Head victory AND and SEC championship - NO shot for us to go instead of them.

I'm not saying we can't be in the playoff, but I am saying no way we get in ahead of Auburn IF Auburn wins the SEC.
