Question: Playoffs: Think we'll still get in?

I don't think so and here's why:

1. SOS is terrible, but who would have thought FSU would be that bad? Seriously, stop scheduling teams like Mercer and maybe a lesser P5 team like Wake Forrest, Kansas St, Iowa, etc in the future

2. 2-Loss tOSU would get in based off beating a potential top-4 Wisconsin, top-10 Penn St, and a Mich St. team that was ranked. That schedule is still Better than ours

3. The media does NOT want a 1-loss Bama to jump tOSU, imagine the outcry if two SEC teams get in knowing how terrible the leauge is.

I'll take a NY6 and hope we get a offensive identity next year. At some point either the Daboll experiment ends or Tua gets a look at being starter

Would not surprise me if we get shellacked. Color me " black helicopter ", but I think tonight is what a lot of people have been waiting for. Hope I`m wrong but I`m expecting around 8.

Just praying for lots of chaos right now. And, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I would assume it would be best for us to become Auburn fans in the SEC championship game. I think that would make our loss look better.

I think Alabama's best odds at this point might be Clemson (that is if they don't lose to South Carolina) and Auburn winning their respective conference championship games. Then of course hoping for Oklahoma and Wisconsin to lose (both shouldn't need to, but I'd take it). It would be really hard to leave Alabama out with their sole loss coming to a playoff team. Clemson and Auburn would kind of feed off each other, but they kind of make Alabama look a bit better in the process.

I doubt it, but if we did I sure hope we would play a lot better. Tonight was just bad. We seemed so slow. It is what it is. We lost. I hate 'em, but congrats to Auburn. They know how to get in our heads.

Three games might end up being what sink Alabama's chances:
Miami beating FSU in the last seconds - This really hurt because it both contributed to FSU's tail spin, but it's also why Miami is still in the hunt at all.
LSU losing to Troy - This win would really be a signature win for Alabama. LSU did after all beat Auburn. However, the loss to Troy severely diminishes that.
Texas A&M blowing the UCLA game - It was an epic meltdown, and it is another one of those games that really erodes the conference SoS. A&M would be a pretty good win, but that mucks things up.

That's the part of SOS that's just out of Alabama's control. Mercer was never going to make or break their SoS. If FSU hasn't completely melted down though, no one would be questioning Alabama's resume. The truth is Alabama has played as well as any team vying for the playoffs, they didn't lose to Syracuse, Pitt, LSU, or Iowa St. Unfortunately, Alabama might be judged for games other teams played.

It might not matter. The biggest factor right now is what happens with Oklahoma and Wisconsin. If one of those don't get out of the way I think Alabama is a long shot anyway.

We will go to the Nobody Really Cares? Bowl and probably lose since our guys never seem to care about games that are not championship games. 2010 would be the exception to the rule.

See no way we are lower than 5. No 2 loss except the barn ahead of us and uga should be right behind us based on common opponent (barn) and score. The Coaches Poll tomorrow will be very telling IMO

Alabama isn't going to the playoffs. The entire playoff system was established to give Ohio State a change to win a NT. So it will be Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson, and Auburn....UGA isn't beating AU.
