Hi folks:

My sister is running for District Judge in the Shoals area. One of the local papers is running a poll and several of the candidates are lobbying for votes on Facebook and other places. Since my sister won't play that game, I want to do it for her. Funny thing is that no one really knows the "leader" of this poll, and my sister is the current municipal judge and has been for 15 years.

Long story short, you can only vote from the same IP address once so I need your help to get her numbers up...for appearances sake. Look on the left hand side of the page and her name is Polly Ruggles. I appreciate your vote!

Just curious why your sister won't lobby for votes on social networking sites? Is it just for this poll or is she like that for the actual campaign?

i dont mean this to be too inflammatory of a statement but the last time someone randomly asked me to vote for their sister was amateur night in a strip club. Im glad you are asking for something more noble. (especially bc the sis that night was pretty ugly :biggrin

First of all, she is a Bama grad--both undergrad and law school. I'm a Bama grad too. Secondly, ANYONE can vote and that's one of the reasons the poll is silly. I didn't ask her why she wouldn't lobby for votes on FB, but she did call me and ask me to vote. I expect that she has better things to do...judges think very differently than I do.

One thing I do know is that they are attacking my sister at every possible angle...at this point it's directed at her children. One of them is at a college prep boarding school because she is VERY smart, and the local school didn't address her needs. You'd think people would not take potshots at children, but quite frankly that's all they've got. Her record is very good, and she is quite popular in the community. Even some of the people she puts in jail on a regular basis like her since she is very fair.

On a brighter note, the people (out of Montgomery) running her campaign only back winners.
