I wanted to address something but the last thread hit 500. @colbysullivan while I do disagree with how @NationalTitles18 argues certain points and how sometimes his responses come off with probably more heat than he probably intends or realizes… I don’t think he ever has lied about facts or atleast in the way he interprets them.

One point is I think it’s more than fair to say “Democrats don’t advocate for political violence”. Yes you are going to find your Jimmy Dores, Kathy Griffins, and your Kyle Grass’s who have done some deplorable messaging to suggest violence but as a whole the Democrats have been nowhere near as advocates of political violence as their Republican counterparts. So in that instance I’m in full agreement with NT. I don’t think it’s a lie or a distortion of facts.

We will NEVER agree on that.

With my honesty/integrity being deliberately questioned/attacked directly and indirectly by several posters recently, I appreciate that and your interpretation on the matter discussed in this post is accurate in my view. There are always exceptions to the rule, nuts, and outliers.

There are always contextual data that might lead me to a different conclusion than someone else might make from an isolated action or statement (The Biden fist fighting Trump statement comes to mind - we will just agree to disagree if we don't agree, to anyone who disagrees).

I tend to be matter of fact and point blank, and just like most everyone, sometimes I do come in somewhat hot, but when I do so I am also restrained with a minutely few exceptions. We've all gotten hot at one time or another. I won't deny it. But most often when I'm accused of it I'm being the former in this paragraph (matter of fact) and not the latter (emotionally hot).

And some don't like me for whatever their reason and they are going to judge me/what I do partially by how they feel about me. Whoopteedo. Nothing new.

Honestly I think if most of these conversations were happening face to face there would be less fire fights on discussing these topics. I’m horrible myself at conveying my points through text and email but I’m one of the more well liked people in the office. I do alot better talking than writing and can provide faster context to what I mean than waiting on a reply from a post or text. Point is more people are far more angry with what i type than what i say. It’s why unless im posting pictures i generally stay away from FB.

There are only a few posters I truly dislike and don’t respect and they are all on ignore. I think only one of them is an active poster. So if I’m responding to you on a consistent basis then it means there is a good amount of respect I have towards the poster even if it’s not abundantly clear.

Well said.

The old adage is that emotion is difficult to convey in writing. There are no nonverbal cues. No facial expressions. No dip or rise in tone or inflection.

I like to think I'm liked in person, but I know without a doubt that is not always the case; but most often that is because someone has crossed a line and I will walk them back across it without delay (I am protective of our staff and don't tolerate bad behavior toward them).

At the same time I am just as likely to be singing or joking as to be dead serious, if the situation allows.

Some guy actually studied this issue. He concluded that in a standard conversation,

7% of meaning was conveyed through words and grammar.

38% through vocal cues, such as tone, pitch, accent, etc.

Leaving a whopping 55% conveyed by non-verbal cues such as posture, facial expression, context, etc.

And yes, I am a nerd.

This is my favorite post today. Not the political part, but how it's hard to convey your thoughts and emotions in the written word.

Most of my family and friends are Trumpers and we get along just fine. I met CA and B1GTide at the LSU/Bama game Trump was at, and I'm certain we could be fast friends. Never met two nicer guys. Also got to talk to CA's dad and it turns out we only lived 30 miles apart for a while. Super fun guy to talk to.

But we come here for political sparring and sometimes things get heated. It's worth remembering we're all Bama fans so we have common ground there. 81, you sent me a really nice PM earlier this week (maybe it was last week) that completely changed my mood for the better.

I enjoy the political sparring and am passionate about my positions, and will continue to defend my position while trying to keep and open mind. But deep down, I think most here are genuinely good folk.

Dogs are proof. Have them read a text and they totally miss the meaning.

― Mike Tyson
One of my favorite quotes of all time.

And yeah, there is a world of difference between the written word and spoken word. I've been told a million times that my emails at work at just a little too blunt and often misinterpreted as being rude. Truth is, I just need to get my point across and get back to work and one thing I've noticed is that I sometimes post on here a bit too fast because I finally got that fax I've been waiting on and it's time to button this thing up.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of you were reading a post of mine and wound up saying something like, "Gee, that post started out all right, but there at the end? What the hell, man?" That's just the nature of what happens when I start a post and then have to rapidly finish with poor follow-through, unimaginative prose and/or iffy spelling. Eh, what can ya do?

So you have never met me? I was at both tailgate events. I remember @crimsonaudio , @4Q Basket Case , @B1GTide , Selma, tattoo , @LSUgrad2BamaDad , and I forget the guy’s handle but he always comes during football season and we get on some bizarre thread drifts with @DzynKingRTR when there are a bunch of meaningless games.

I don't think we met. I didn't know you were there. I think Selma was at the first and not the second. Seems like LSUgrad was there. Something came up and I don't think tattoo made it but he may have. Did not see 4Q. If you remember, we had to be in our seats 2 hours before kickoff and security was really high because the President was there.

I sometimes try to yank a few chains with some post, but I respect you guys. No doubt you all are smarter than myself, but I enjoy the banter. However, I do try to counter anyone I feel is trying to control the narrative. That's just goes against my sense of fairness. I wish we could put the unvarnished true out there and let everyone be convinced in their on mind. We all know that won't happen, so we just have to do the best we all can.
