One thing I notice, Michigan was ahead in that game. Not exactly setting the world on fire if you are letting Michigan beat you. I know they ultimately won the game but Clowney doesn't play every position. You can make him quit too!

Exactly. He is an absolute freak but doesn't appear to have the best conditioning, or he just takes plays off.

I bet he wishes he could revisit his decision of remaining there instead of striking while the iron was hot a couple of years ago. Makes me wonder a bit about Franklin ...

If we play South Carolina in the SECCG, I'd run the ball down Clowney's throat. Who do we have other than our left tackle that can help block him? Maybe the TE? and the H-back. We would have to keep him away from AJ! Doesn't he rush from both sides? So the right tackle may have to be real good also.

So, you have to run at him and not away from him. However, he may get you no matter where you go with the ball. I sure wish he was playing for Bama.

He plays almost exclusively against the LT in games I've watched.

His worst game was probably LSU and they ran right at him and used his incredible explosiveness against him. That would probably be our strategy.

I'm not sure about the people questioning his hustle I've seen him run down plays down the field and he is probably working pretty hard on each play to get to the QB, also I haven't noticed many plays that they take him off the field. Spurrier mentioned that he has dropped some weight since the end of last season. Maybe he felt he needed to get in better shape.

Our left tackle may not need any help. Those two going against one another in the SEC title game would have pro scouts drooling more than they already are. Those two could easily be the top two draft picks next year. It would be fun to watch.

Actually LSU ran right by him, using his speed against him. Quick handoffs to RB who was reading Clowney from the snap, if Clowney rushed wide they cut up field, if Clowney used his spin move to go inside they ran wide. Rest of LSU OL blocked very well against other USC DL. USC had a poor gameplan for LSU offense and did not adjust until late in 2nd half.

The OT that actually had the best game against Clowney since he came to Columbia was UT's LT last year. He held him in check for almost the entire game, but then with the game on the line Clowney broke through and still made the game-winning play. Clowney even commented after the game that it was the best he had been blocked all year.

Go look at UGA and clemson film for text book cases of how not to block Clowney.
