Absolutely can not. Tua has a high completion percentage for very few yards every game. most of his passes are within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage , never looks downfield. With all that arm talent, it is a shame. Maybe it’s fear of injury and he needs another offseason. Peyton Manning was terrible his rookie season! If the Dolphins were smart, they would hand the keys back to Fitzmagic and hope to not see Fitztragic for a playoff run. That is, when he clears COVID protocol!
Some of this is true. However, Miami has literally NO WEAPONS on offense. The below average receivers they had are mostly injured. They started three rookies on the O line. Let’s see what happens next yr after they draft DaVonta or the LSU kid.

I still think Daboll kept setting up game plans thinking Tua would be in more.
The only time I’ve had someone say they saw Saban get cussed back at by an assistant was when Daboll did it in the national championship going into halftime. Daboll was getting railed at about his play calling and basically told Saban in a very colorful manner to put the quarterback that this offense was designed for in the game otherwise this is what we have to look forward to the rest of the game.

I would only pick Alabama to make the CFP if Mac comes back. I wouldn't be shocked if Alabama made it with Young, but a change at OC with a new QB generally leads to some early season struggles - especially an OC from completely outside of the organization.
Generally speaking, you are correct. But this is Alabama we are talking about and we are STACKED with talent at all positions with probably our best recruiting class ever coming on board. We will have struggles especially along the O line. Young may also take some time to develop but we have what we need to get back to the playoff. I fully expect that we will.

I am holding off total judgement until I see who comes back. Waddle could shock us all and choose to come back. Shoot, Mac could. You never know what these guys are thinking. Najee and Smitty coming back this year shocked me.
Harris and Smith both improved their draft stock significantly by coming back. But I do not think Waddle could do much in that respect as the whole world knows what he can do. Mac is going to complete one of the best seasons in college football history for a QB so no, don't expect him to come back either.

2014 Lane kiffin and Blake Sims say Hello! , but I get what you are saying, it doesn’t happen often and odds are against it. Especially if we have a large turnover on the offensive staff!

And we don't even know how Covid will impact the ability of schools to have spring or summer practices.

Here's how I tend to view next year for an Alabama team.

If they win a championship, I really don't care. Not one bit. Every single player who enters the draft, every coach who leaves. Have at it, you did your job.

I feel like that until the inevitable point in the next season that somehow, some way Saban has this Alabama team in contention again. It's both an amazing and an amazingly difficult thing because he doesn't get to rebuild, or experiment. He just wins no matter what.

I kinda think by then the NCAA and the conferences will have figured it out and allow spring and summer practices.......... we have slogged through fall practices pretty well. Granted, some teams have had to suspend some activities, but they also have figured out some stuff as well...............hopefully all will go well

Since I have not followed the NFL since 1986, I know nothing about Gase. Does he have a relationship with CNS as a player or coach? What makes him a potential OC for Alabama?

Bill O'Brien would be a great hire, likely at least the same caliber as Sark, possibly an upgrade.

He was a college OC & QB coach for 2 years each at GT and Duke. Was QB coach at NE in 09-10, 10 was when Brady had his greatest season, one of the greatest of all time. He was NE OC in 2011, when he guided Matt Cassel, subbing for the injured Brady, to an 11-5 season, Cassel looking very good. The type of season he was never to replicate elsewhere.

Hired to resurrect PSU's crushed program in 2012. Turned their QB, can't remember his name, who looked absolutely hopeless prior into a legitimate college QB. The transformation was beyond amazing. Won Big10 COY, and Paul Bryant national COY awards among others. That was with an 8-4 record. Was offered NFL jobs at Cleveland and one other, I've forgotten, but he turned them down saying that he would not leave PSU after one season (though he wanted an NFL job). Took the Houston job after the following year.

Won 4 Division titles (weak div but still) and 2nd one year in the next 6 years. Was 2-4 in playoffs.

Has much better resume than Kiffin, Sark or Daboll all of whom I was excited to get (in general NFL coaches are technically superior to college coaches). (I knew that Saban had tried to hire Kiffin at least once when he first got to Bama, but was turned down one or both times).

Saban never gets on someone who does their job (not meaning that he requires success but simply that they do what they know to do, i.e., in general Saban is very reasonable). Sark and others have never had a problem. He would never get on O'Brien, IMO, certainly not in public - too, too much well-deserved respect.
