Just heard on WJOX that Prince HAll will be back this season. He will be suspended for the first three games. Also Harris will be the only freshman LB moved to the outside. The others will remain on the inside and McClain will be calling signals for the D.

Re: Prince Hall back....

Wideout Will Oakley, however, will miss the first three weeks of practice with a stress fracture in his foot. He will not be on the 105-man roster when practice opens but will join the team later.

Poor Oakley has just been snake-bitten every year he's been at UA.

Re: Prince Hall back....

That's good news about Prince, I wish he were available for the Clemson game but getting an experienced LB back period is good.

Not so good news about Will Oakley. The poor guy can't seem to buy a break with injuries.

Re: Prince Hall back....

It also says incoming RB Jermaine Preyear will take a medical redshirt.

Re: Prince Hall back....

With Cody, McClain and Hall in the middle, there shouldn't be any yards gained going up the middle. That's a lot of beef between the 3 of them.

Re: Prince Hall back....

Is this a good thing or bad thing? I hope sitting on the sidelines for 3 games will open his eyes? I hope this doesn't come back to bite Bama in the rear. I would say this would his last chance with Bama?

Saban was a little unclear on this point. Preyear will definitely be out for the year because of medical issues. However, Saban said that he would "use a medical" and then said he will essentially grayshirt.

If he "uses a medical", that would imply that they put him on scholarship now. If he uses a grayshirt, he would not go on scholarship until January.

Re: Prince Hall back....

I have a feeling that with everything that Prince has been through, he will be on his best behavior from now on. I am pretty sure that Saban read him the riot act before letting him on.

Re: Prince Hall back....

he'll probably be resuspended again before the mods have a chance to delete this post!

Why would we delete this post????

McElwayne hasn't said whether he will be on the field or up in the booth calling plays.

I guess at this time Colin Peek is still not cleared to play this season for Alabama.

"Freshman running back Jermaine Preyear will take a grayshirt for the fall due to a lingering shoulder injury. Preyear, who did take some classes at Alabama this summer, will enroll full-time in January with the full four years of eligibility (plus a redshirt year if needed) beginning in 2009."

"Tight end Colin Peek, who transferred from Georgia Tech in the offseason, will be a part of the 105 but will not be eligible to play this season after his hardship appeal was denied by the NCAA. Peek's appeal was due to the fact that Georgia Tech eliminated his position under new coach Paul Johnson. Unless the Peek family takes successful legal action, he will have one year of eligibility beginning in 2009."

I know I've seen this about an appeal on CP's behalf to the NCAA but I always thought that IF a player xfers from one D1 school to another D1, it is mandated to sit out one season. Is there really any hope CP gets a 2nd year? I suspect that ncaazi-reality bites us on this one & he winds up w/1 year to play 1 year & that has to be in '09.

Defensive lineman Kerry Murphy has not been cleared. “We do have an appeal in but we feel like with a little more academic work this fall he should be able to enroll in January.”

Also, RB Jermaine Preyear will take a medical redshirt & not play as a freshman.

"As the Kerry Turns:" Man, I hope that he finally makes it to campus in time for next Spring!

"Silver Lining:" Doesn't P.Crump's decision + Preyear's MedRed finally get us to the magic numbers for '08?
:)
