This was the projected lineup from 247sports at the beginning of the season:
1. Jake Fromm (Jr.)
2. Stetson Bennett IV (RSoph.)
3. Nathan Priestley (Fr.)
Jake Fromm is still the guy and that has never really been in question. There's reason for excitement, too, when you consider that the highly-successful, two-year starter is entering upperclassman territory. Fromm was really sharp in the team's second preseason scrimmage and this is his team in way it has never been before. Bennett has won the No. 2 job barring something crazy in the next few days. He gives the Bulldogs a confident, mobile triggerman who knows the offense well and has shown he can make plays against SEC-level talent. The coaches and medical staff are bringing D'Wan Mathis along slowly, so it might be mid-season before he's fully cleared. That means Priestley, who has been impressive during camp, will likely travel with the team as the No. 3 quarterback for now.
They have a LOT of uncertainty, but if they go the JUCO/transfer route, it will pretty much kill their QB depth. I'm expecting someone to transfer regardless ... they also have Carson Beck as an early enrollee so it will be interesting to see what happens.
