I don't see the big deal where he goes. We still have two pretty good QBs on campus. If he does go to Bama, I am afraid we are going to loose one of the QBs we have now. He still might go to the MLB. So, if he commits now to Bama we might loose out on some other QB and have nothing in Feb. If he was only a one support athlete it would be different. Do you remember Brodie's recruiting year...and that was against the best recruiter FSU ever had. And at the end of the day, WE ARE STILL ALABAMA!

Re: Would be Funny if......

Well, he negatively recruited against Alabama. He never had to mention CNS.
Remember Lance Thompson's quote, "He (Saban) aint getting any more of my guys"?

Lance was our best recruiter for our 2008 class. His loyalties seem to have changed after he left Bama. It's not unheard of that DC's loyalty to Saban changed, if he even had any.

The bottom line is there aren't many people that can recruit head to head with Saban. Most have to resort to negative recruiting tactics.
I appreciate that info, rto22, because I'm just speculating.

I find it highly disrespectful to do that, because Alabama is Nick Saban right now.
Just to let y'all know. I'm not here to flame, troll, etc.

I know you can only trust people to a certain extent. I really like CNS and I don't believe he has to negative recruit, I don't think that's his style. Jimbo has repeatedly said during last season that they don't negative recruit kids(During our recruitment of Aaron Lynch). Do I believe that? I would like too, but anything can go down behind close doors.

Very good point. I think if he comes to UA, someone will be leaving in the next year or so anyway.

Jameis Winston will not be the deciding factor for either QB to leave. The loser of the QB battle will most likely leave, not because of a younger recruit that has a good chance at baseball.

Re: Would be Funny if......

as far as the negative stuff goes, recruits have gone on record saying that CNS didn't say anything negative about other schools during their recruitment. How ironic would it be for Dummy-un Craig if Phillip Sims is 'bama's starting QB this year?

So basically DC said Bama doesn't play Black QB's. Is there any confirmation to this? I've heard this rumor on a couple of boards before.

It's the first dirty tactic out of the bag when it comes to recruiting black QBs. With relative few exceptions in the recent past there haven't been many black QBs around to debunk the tactic either

I think this tactic will only increase if AJ gets the nod over Simms. I think Simms is more talented and should win the starting job by the third week of the season.

Re: Would be Funny if......

Well, he negatively recruited against Alabama. He never had to mention CNS.
There is a story out on the Internet about a HS coach in Mobile who says that he was directly involved with CDC and the recruitment of one of his student/football players. This is one of those crazy recruiting stories that you hear about every so often. The HS coach says that his student/football player is a prospect that is/was being recruited by both FSU and Bama. I am going to leave the name of the HS coach, the schools, and the names of any alleged football players in this story out of this post for obvious reasons. However it is apparent to most of us who follow recruiting closely, which players are being talked about. Please do not discuss the names of the HS coach, schools or the players reportedly involved in this reported situation. Even if you think that you know any or all of them. It is just hearsay and for obvious reasons I would not want to speculate or discuss the specifics of this situation.

Reportedly the Bama staff has been made aware of this situation.

The coach reportedly was visited by CDC who was recruiting one of his football players to FSU. Reportedly, CDC asked the coach about this players teachers and asked how willing are they to help this player get into college? After being told that the teachers are doing everything possible within the rules to help him, tutoring, extra credit work, untimed tests, etc. DC then asked, can they bump his grades? The coach asked him to claify did he mean would the teachers change his grades? CDC reportedly said, Yes. According to the coach CDC then alleged that another top prospect from another HS in the Mobile area that had committed to FSU will receive help from the guidance counselors at that school. The implication was that if grades aren’t changed to help them to become academically eligible for FSU then the school must not really want to help the kid.

Reportedly CDC then goes on about how the state of Alabama uses these kids like a meat factory promising them they’ll help them find jobs after college if the NFL doesn’t work out but that’s a bunch of BS. CDC also said that if this player goes to Bama and tears his ACL they’ll kick him to the curb like a sick dog. He then began to give examples of how FSU actually does help players find six-figure jobs all over the country.

Reportedly after CDC meet with the HS coach he went to the Principal of the school and demanded that the prospects grades be altered to help the player gain college eligibility. CDC was asked to leave.

Here is where the story really gets interesting. The HS coach said that eight weeks later the player in question transferred to the other Mobile HS where CDC had said that the students get help qualifying. The HS coach goes on to say that two HS in Mobile have already banned CDC from ever coming on campus due to the same type of recruiting situations.

It is at 3:30 CENTRAL. I think some thought it was at 3:30 eastern.
Gotcha. My impression was that it was 2:30 central (taping) and airing an hour later. Thought some word might have leaked. Sounds like I'm just asking for bad news anyway.

I'm with you. It sounds like the lock we thought Bama had is no longer that.
