This is the first time FSU has won 19 games over a 2 year span since the 2003-2004 seasons. I'm not saying they haven't looked ugly at times this year, but Jimbo has won 19 games his first two seasons as head coach, he could be doing a lot worse.

If the SEC changed their rules about playing pro-baseball during the summer, it would help us out a TON. It's a rule that really needs to be looked at.

He is probably building up the suspense/shock value for when he announces his real college choice....

$1000 is alot of money for a 17-18 year old kid. I'm sure he's got seveal people influencing the logic of making this decision. From his perspective, a $500k contract and the starting QB at FSU. So, he gets the best of both worlds. He could be the annointed one for Jimbo and completley turn aound FSU and compete fo a title, further rising his football stock, all the while working on his baseball stock. If he football goes bad, oh well, I'll focus on baseball. No sweat. That type of oppurtunity is going to be hard to pass up. If it were a football only decision, I think he would be ours easy. Two things do strike me though. He and Yeldon have a connection from the all star game. Winston's football side see what Yeldon is doing and it is weighing on his mind. Second, if you go to the video of Yeldon at the all star game, look at his body language and eyes when he's asked about what he will be doing after the game and when he is due to enroll at Auburn. This is very telling. Not a great poker face at all. I'm getting this type of feeling fom Winston, although he has been on the quiet side as far as the media and public go. I hope he rolls with us, but I think it's a long shot. Hope I'm wrong.

There has been plenty of internet talk that a few players at the All-Star game decided they wanted to play together and win a national championship at Alabama. Two of the names mentioned have decommitted from one school and committed to Alabama. You can guess one of the other names mentioned.

TIDERUSH, you are 100% right on the money. I believe that Winston will be a 2nd-4th rounder and he will end up getting $500,000-$1,000,000. Winston is playing a game. I am not saying he won't change and come to Bama, but it's still in FSU's favor. If he changes and comes to Bama, GREAT!!! and you have to admire him giving up the opportunity for money, while playing college football. But if he stays with FSU, and he's known it (look at most of his quotes and actions regarding FSU), then shame on him for teasing the Bama Nation. I guess we all need to remember that he is a kid and they have the right---and THE FANS GIVE HIM THE STAGE-- to do this.

$100k to play baseball and go to FSU is still more than he would get at UA. So if money has anything to do with his decision FSU will be the school he ends up at.

And in regards to teasing UA, I have not seen one thing from Winston to make me think he is switching. Alot of our sites are making the prediction or saying the chance is there, but I have not seen one quote in the last month to say FSU is not where he will end up. I have seen plenty from him regarding FSU. All this speculation from the all star game or whatever is just that, speculation. But to say he is teasing Bama nation is wrong, because again JW in the past month has not said one thing on twitter, to writers, or anywhere to suggest he was coming to UA.

If anything the fans are getting carried away because of Yeldon and Taylor switching and are starting to assume there is more there than what actually is.

Rodney Orr continues to say Alabama is in great shape with JW. ;) Rodney tends be very conservative in what he says which leads me to think there is something to JW ultimately ending up in Tuscaloosa.

I'm not going to hold my breath. I would love to see JW at Alabama, but Bama will win with him. Bama will win without him.

SEC's weird rule is really hurting our chance to get his signature. Anyway, if he signs with us, great, if not, so be it. We have a good QB commit already.

What is the rule? Does the SEC not let pro baseball players play other sports?

The ACC allows players to be professional baseball players in the summer and play amateur football in the fall of the year. The players are allowed to get signing bonuses and such. This rule is an SEC rule, meaning that the NCAA has no problems with this going on, only the SEC. Puts us at a severe disadvantage when recruiting two sport stars of JW's caliber.

"I have heard from a source close to Winston that he is seriously considering Auburn at this time. He will wait to see who Auburn hires as an OC and then schedule a visit. I would have him at 50-50 right now, but with a great hire those chances will increase significantly. Coach Thigpen is scheduled to visit with Winston and his family after the dead period."

Let's hope Orr ends up 3/3 on his predications of TY, LC , and JW. I just thought some of you guys might have some thoughts on this. I wasn't aware A* was even a threat at this point.

The last time we won an NC, the Cheetahs got their checkbook out and brought in a hired mercenary to try and keep up with us. I guess if Winston passes on MLB to play at AU, we will know that business is usual on the Plains.

I was looking for some insight from more seasoned posters who may have some knowledge on JW's recruitment. Instead you give me the typical homer stance "they'll pay him if they can" reply. Thx for not contributing at all to this thread.

You guys need to check out GCT's latest update on IBCR
concerning AU's recruitment of JW. If I were AU I would steer clear of him or those checkbooks will be paying to lawyer up again......

I brought the latest JW news from someone claiming to be close to him and his family. You simply wasted a line of text rehashing something that has been said a million times since $cam played for A*. Which has ZERO relevance in JW's recruitment, so why even waste the post??? Save your sunshine pumping and contribute or ****.
