Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

Didn't know about the recruiting for FSU thanks for the update Rtb. In my opinion, there is little doubt to me Winston is going to FSU. If Alabama was really in the equation, I don't see him pulling the trigger and committing to FSU when he did.

Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

I know it's part of the deal, but I wish coaches would try to hold these diva's feet to the fire a little more. It's like the prisoners running the asylum. Winston is making me sick with thes quotes and the attention HE IS TRYING TO CREATE. He AND his high school coach are making me want signing day to come and go. The question is, do we really want that type of player at Bama? I remember a player a few years ago that kept creating drama, even postponing his signing. Remember Terrell Pryor????

Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

I do not really care where JW ends up. I see it 2 ways. One he really wants to play both sports. Fine go to FSU because I do not want a player here that is not focused 100% on football. I wish him well at FSU. Or two he got his feelings hurt becuase he was not getting the love he wanted we UA went after Gunner tired of JW playing the recruiting game. I hope it is the first but either way I feel they are better recruits out there to fill the few remaining spots left on our board. I am not saying the staff or any fan agrees with me just giving my thought on JW and the current situation. Good luck to wherever he ends up.

Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

Read this morning on Scout.com that Winston was really working the other players at the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Game to go to FSU. Why would you be one of the biggest recruiters for FSU if you weren't sure. Proves my previous points that this is all a stupid game to get publicity for Winston. Ragland and a few of the other Bama commits are working for Bama and are 110% committed. If Winston is still trying to find himself and make his mind up, WHY TRY TO PERSUADE someone to come with him to FSU? That would be pretty crappy to talk someone into FSU and then you decommit and sign with another school on NSD.
a report just this morning was saying the exact opposite of this as well stating that yeldon doesn't talk about recruiting to hardly anybody much less reporters. And while recruits will say they are solid and all that remember just last year Brent said the same things.(I know it worked to our favor in the end because it's the barn ;),but just an example)

Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

I have made my feelings known on this board regarding JW and his recruitment by Bama awhile back. Most JW supporters really believe that he was a "Bama lock" early on but I knew with my gut feeling based on all the information in cyber space that he was never really going to commit to UA, even with the most ardent Winston "supporter" ever to sign up on Tidefans pitching his BS to us fans everyday leading up to his long awaited anticipated verbal commitment!! With these latest developments, the supporters are coming back out wishing and hoping that JW will see the light and switch his commitment. Again, this kid is playing the game. Its very apparent moreso now with his "recruitment" for FSU at the AL-Miss game.

I'm tired of him and his game. His indecisions are a "smoke and mirror".

For those who still believe Bama is his final choice, good luck with that and more power to you. :cool2:

Done ranting.

Winston won't be announcing on signing day....don't know if that's old news or not, but it's news...

Only because he will be participating in USA vs World u19 football game on that day. His quote also goes on to say he does not think he will. He has not ruled it out. Either way he is going to FSU.

He was impressive today in the all star game. Reminiscant of Cam Newton and RG3. Would love to see a qb like him at Bama.

I didnt realize we couldnt have combo players. I thought Spencer Pennington was one, maybe since he was a football walkon its allowed?

Re: QB Jameis 'Jaboo' Winston (FSU Soft-verbal) Updates

I see it as if baseball is something he wants to play I can not see going anywhere else other than FSU. I understand the new CB agreement may hurt his chances at a lot of money. I also have read the only reason his stock has dropped at all regarding the draft is the concern of football. Teams are worried after his first CFB season he may bail on them. So his stock has dropped because of that. But he also has a HS baseball season ahead of him that could push him into the 1st round if it is very good and could be. And even if he was lets say a 3rd round and they only offered him $500k to sign, that is bad how come. He would still get to play football at FSU, baseball during the summer, and make more money than he would playing in the SEC. Sorry but this seems to be a no brainer on his part.

Like I told you guys two months back with Gunner Kiel, just move on from this one. Those who don't are just setting themselves up for further disappointment.

Wasn't CNS recently in attendance at one of his games? What makes you think he has moved on?

I don't care if CNS has moved on or not, but I have. I don't care if he comes, and frankly with only 3 spots left for scholarships, I would rather land Goldman, Collins, and McCullers then Winston...let him go to FSU, or wherever else, but IMO we don't need him...

We have more than three spots left, a couple of more than that due to back counters.

That's if we can still use back counters. There isn't clarity in the rule yet, but a lot of people are in the thought that it's a flat 25 no matter whether you had spots left year or not...

Nope there is a midyear exemption in the new 25 rule for placing players in prior counter's spots. The problem is no one knows how it exactly works.
