Yes you do have to teach to some degree. Coach Saban explained how he left LSU thinking he wanted a bigger challenge, like winning the Super Bowl. He realized how he would rather work with college-age athletes, and how the unrelenting demands of the NFL wore down even a workaholic like himself. His ability to teach in college is his passion. It wasn't in the NFL. That makes sense.That doesn't make much sense. You'd think if anything he learned more by being the head man of a pro team and you still have to teach to some degree in the pros, just less so on the development of the person, but still a lot of teaching and development on the field. But learning things from being around the absolute best and seeing them up close and personal all the time, being able to teach kids exactly what it takes to succeed in the league should be a huge learning tool.
