"If signing day were today I would sign with Georgia," said Crowell, an Under Armour All-American. "I have great relationship with the coaches and players. It also helps that Jarvis [Jones, a former teammate] is there.

"But I have to say that Alabama and Clemson are right there too."
According to insiders at his school, Crowell could ultimately sign with the national champion Crimson Tide. He loves Alabama running backs coach Burton Burns and so do his parents. It certainly helps that this is a team that loves to pound the rock. Running back Mark Ingram won the Heisman and could elect to go pro after this season. Crowell knows that Ingram's backup, Trent Richardson, is the next superstar in Tuscaloosa and Crowell could capture that reserve role next year.

The longer he waits, the better, and I think he has said or implied he will announce late in the process. I see UGA finishing 3rd in the East (behind UF and USCe). I don't think a winning/losing season is a big motivator, but it could be in this case, b/c RIcht's seat has been getting warmer over the last few seasons.

If we don't get Crowell, I'm officially worried about our RB situation. And since Georgia is his current leader, I'm worried anyway.

In 2 years both Mark and Trent will be gone. Even Eddie Lacy might consider leaving within the same time frame. Who would be playing for us then? We probably need two good RBs in this class and we still can't get a single one.

Javoris Allen, Alonzo Harris, and Georgia Atkinson are just a few of the RB prospects that are more than capable to take the spot that guys like Brown, Wilder, or possibly Crowell pass on. I'm not worried the least bit about Alabama's recruiting. This is Nick Saban we're talking about.

I see Eddie getting lots of reps even this year. I cannot imagine him leaving.

Even if we miss on Brown AND Crowell, I'm confident that we have contingency plans to get a rb, be it Javorius Allen or maybe even someone else.

None of those are tp 10 rb though and it is important for Bama to make hay while the sun is shining. After a NC I would have thought Bama could have closed with one. Not out of it for Crowell but the home state pull will be hard to overcome. Out os curiosity who or when was the last time Alabama had a top 5 national rb?

Well there goes the whole "we're going to get either Brown or Crowell or Wilder" thing.
1. Never thought we were gonna get Wilder.
2. Never thought we were gonna get Brown.
3. Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get Crowell.

And I'm not worried one tiny bit.

Wow. How quickly we forget. You know you're spoiled when...

This is turning into a worry-fest.  I especially like the fan asking the last time we signed a "top five" RB? Kind of new to the Tide or what? Just asking. :BigA:

uh no not what I was asking when is the last time the state of ALabama had a top 5 national rb? As in a rb that came from the state of Alabama. TR is from Florida carrect?

Those of you that say this doesn't mean anything is just kiddin yourself.. We need to pull Crowell, We are the NC in case you all have forgot. Also in case you were asleep on NSD last year take a look at the signing class that UF had after winning it all.. Running the football 80% of the time and playing defense is how we win. If we miss on the top 3 running backs in this class it is a big deal, I know a lot of you will bring up Allen as a solution but, none of us know how is going to come back from injury. Isaiah Crowell has to be top priority to our staff and if you think anything else then your arrogance offends me..

labamafan70769: I am not sure if you mean a top 5 overall or top 5 RB.. TR was #6 overall in most recruiting sites and either #1 or #2 at RB.. :BigA:

Dang, I forgot we were National Champions, silly me...
