I’m really concerned about our OL recruiting.
Right now, for the 2026 class, we only have 1 - 4 star OT and 1 - 4 star IOL.
I also see 2 – 3 star OTs.

That won’t cut it in the SEC – I'm used to seeing us recruit, at least, 1 - 5 Star and several 4 - Star OL.
What are we doing to recruit more OL??

Factoring in the transfer portal, most probably. I’ve always thought that trying to evaluate and recruit high school linemen makes doing the same with skill position players look like a walk in the park.

I would take a look at the 2026 recruiting thread and see our takes on those two "3 stars"

Both are Likely to finish as 4 stars by time rankings are finalized.

Fretwell and Doughty both have absolutely exploded this season as seniors. They were overlooked as juniors (which happens all the time)

Doughty has top 100 talent. Im not the only person who thinks this Jimmy stein has said as much. He will fly up the rankings.

Fretwell plays at a small school in a wing t offense and because of that has almost no pass blocking on tape. But his run blocking is nasty and he also a 4 star kinda guy....he's also got ELITE length for a tackle.

Both guys also had offers from Brent key at Ga tech which is a golden endorsement for me.

Dont fret. This staffs Evals of "3 stars" have been arguably better than some under saban. Simmons and Brooks from last year come to mind.

We also had a class of all 4 and 5 star ols last cycle fwiw.

I am only going to add what everyone with the exception of a few fans already know, DeBoer knows how to evaluate and recruit. The staff he has assembled is top notch and dare I say a bit better than Saban's last few years at the Capstone. And if you are into rankings, Bama will always be in the Top 5 as long as Bama continues to be a high level brand on and off the field.

Is he as good as Hugh Freeze?
