didn't see much of him up close, but the 3 or 4 throws I saw looked good...

popular opinion says he is the best combination of athleticism and passing of the options out there......I'd say that's close to being right.

Bama leads but he'll visit NC State, Duke, Spurrier, and others by the end of the month and he'll have a decision then.

Wow, I didn't really see this one coming. I mean I had heard his named being mentioned as one of our likely QB targets but I hadn't heard as much about him as some of the others. RTO, so he was at the camps this past weekend? Have you heard anything else about him from anyone else?

Here is some video

Like I said, I saw him throw 4 balls --off the top of my head--.....2 slants, a medium out, and a deep ball.......all were tight spirals, all completed except the deep ball......in the mold of JPW....pretty good athlete, pretty good arm.

Rivals Profile

That's some nice video. I like the touch he shows on the deep ball and the zip on the outs. He showed some nice moves when things broke down in the pocket as well. Looks like he would be a good pickup, come on down Robert!!! RTR!!!

Is this "THE" offer? One and done? Bunch of drunks on here if you ask me, including me, lol! September please hurry! :biggrin2:

as long as he accepts it, he'll be THE offer.....sounds like Voss was #2 by his interviews.....

I think Marve fits well with the direction the offense is going. As Terry said in another thread, we'll see more rolling out, throws on the run, and more 10, 15, 20 yard routes with JPW as the quarterback. McElroy would be able to do the same. Marve, too. Voss would as well.

Sounds great I guess. I just hope we don't have the ole, "Alabama offered him so maybe we orta offer", from the state of Florida contengent. But as we all know, February is a couple weeks off and who knows whether he will even accept, deny or whether we even get a QB this year.

I like signing QBs though. Don't everyone?;)

Oh Yeah! RTR!!!

I just don't get it.

This guy was not even on the radar screen. How did he get past Voss et al to get THE offer? Sure wish RTO could shed some light on this. Should we be concerned? Rivals gave him one star. Now, don't get your shorts in a wad over my mentioning the star thing. I would still take a five star over a one star.

i believe the "one star" only means that he has not been evaluated yet by rivals. we need to trust the coaches with their selections on who gets what. we will be fine with who ever they chose.:BigA:

He's been on the radar. Marve and Garcia have been getting all the attention in their area. Marve is definitely not going to be a one star when the stars do get attributed (the one he has now just means he hasn't received a rating yet).

Check out his video, he's quite impressive.

First I would like to say that we as fans need to be very supportive of Coach Shula and his staff when it comes to offering scholarships to these young men. It seems that when it comes to certain recruts we all have favorites that we would like to see get offered. As far as Marve being offered , who knows if he will accept or not but from everthing that I have read about Voss he would have taken the offer on the spot. Personally I would have liked to have seen Voss get the offer. He really wants to be in Tuscallosa and be a part of the Crimson Tide. This young man seems to be a great leader on the football field. But after seeing the videos and reading what I can find about Marve and Voss I only hope which ever one we get works out well.Maby Voss will still come play for the Tide if Marve desides to go somewhere else.As always Roll Tide Roll!!!!!!!!!

Marve is a very talented QB. Check out his profiles and video linked above. I think he wasn't on most of our radars because it was not known that Mavre was interested in Bama and vice-versa. It is still early in the recruiting process. Marve is one of the Florida's top quarterback prospects. He threw for 1,813 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and he led his team to the state playoffs. He was voted the top quarterback at the Scout.com All-American Combine in Jacksonville on March 19th.

I was a little surprised at first hearing he got the offer, but after reading some articles on him and watching that video RTO posted, I'm quite impressed. I certainly wouldn't worry about him not being ranked yet, once his videos start to make the rounds I have a feeling he'll at least be a high three star if not a four.

Alabama Extends Offer to Florida Quarterback
Robert Marve measured 6-1.5, 192-pounds at the Scout.com All-American Combine held in Jacksonville, (Fla.) in March.

Considered one of the top quarterbacks in the South and was selected the best at the Scout.com combine. His junior campaign was impressive recording 1,813 yards passing and 17 touchdowns.

"I think my footwork really helps me," Marve said. "I'm also a student of the game and, I think I have a strong arm. Those things all help."
