Recruiting Update (10/27)

Just read on Rivals where Chris Jordan will be picking between UA, AU, and Clemson. Fortunately, Bama gets the last official visit. He will announce in December. (He already knows who it will be.)

My gut likes our chances.

Added CB Charles Mitchell to the list. He could earn an offer, soon.

Also, QB Zach Stoudt was asked if he'd be interested in graduating early. No offer from the staff, though.

Glad to here Mitchell may get an offer. He has been one of the top CB prospects without an offer for a while now.

Stoudt is considered the best QB prospect in Ohio. Michigan State and Kentucky are reportedly both close to offering.

He and Jordan will likely be in contention for the possible last RB spot. I don't think we'll have room to take 2 more.

I haven't yet seen film on Bolden, but from what I've gathered he is quicker than his combine numbers on his profiles. He was offered in camp, so I think he must be legit. Remember, the staff wants a power back....could be Bolden.

He ran at the same combine as BJ did in Baton Rouge and I think BJ ran a 4.6 something there as well, however he ran a 4.39 at the Auburn camp. He is a lot faster than those numbers indicate.

That "may" be the case. Stoudt has not been offered yet. What the staff is reportedly trying to do is fill 3 spots where the signees report to Bama early in Jan. Those early signees would be counted in the 2007 signee class. So far only one early enrollee is committed. That is the kicker Corey Smith.

I think it was more along the lines of just gathering options. If Stoudt's reaction was "yes, I'll leave early and come to Bama" he probably would've been offered. As it stands, he's weighing whether or not to play basketball, which he is pretty good at.

Has AB made a visit to T-town yet? Is he still interested in Bama? I think if we land him and JJones we will have #1 class.

I merged this here because of some comments that have already been made.

Jordan will be recruited as a RB. We are looking for a 3rd, due to Preyear's ? on academics.

We will likely take 2 more OL.

We need a corner or two, but none out of Bryant, Green, and Whitlock currently look to be leaning towards us.

Quinn was leaning towards So Car before his surgery. I just hope he's able to play somewhere.

Don't think we count Murphy, yet.

I will never feel Julio is a lock or lean until he commits.

After seeing Bolton's SR. film, he's a WR to me.
 
Thanks for the reply RTO. Who do you think we will get at CB if those guys are low possibilities? If we will take two OL we must be holding out for Glenn and Jones since McClain wanted to commit earlier. Of the LB's I mentioned, any feel?

Likely won't know until May/June.

Yes, Jones and Glenn are 1-2 on the OL wish list.

The CBs are hard to figure. Unless we can flip Green, we might fall back to Charles Mitchell.

Marcus Jemison is another safety that could earn an offer.

Of the LBs, I feel good about Harris and Hightower, right now. Of course, things change quickly in recruiting.
 
i have been thinking for two weeks what an opportunity to garner recruits winning over lsu saturday. i know it is a tall order, but, i do believe it is possible.
