Recruiting Update 12/31

I never said he was the next DJ williams. I just compared him to DJ. Unfortunately y'all have never heard of him seen him or talked to him so y'all wouldn't know. Also there is nothing illegal about giving a kid a different scholarship and letting them walk on to the team they do that all the time at smaller schools. Also Tide I did know that Shula would change his mind about a 2 sport athlete because my "source" told me. I believe what JeBron says about Markus and I know Markus and he wouldn't leave Florida unless he absolutely postivily thinks he can impact another team.

If Manson is as good as people say he is then, I would imagine that he would think absolutely, positively he can affect ANY team he joins whether in his first or second year, given the needs of the particular school. And, if he thinks he can affect Florida, he's got to know he'll affect Bama in a great way. And as far as this Jebron stuff and sources and yada yada yada, look we all have sources and even the athlete themselves often don't know. They often times change their minds every other second, not unlike Manson, or Carter or etc. They're kids and it happens. So, let's all chill, praying would be a good thing, know Shula is working his magic and pray once again that he can coach as well as he can apparently recruit.

Happy New Year to you and all of your families.

Peace and Blessings,

Patriot, just for the record an NCAA Div 1 school cannot give an athlete a scholarship in another sport and have them play football, UNLESS THE STUDENT HAS BEEN IN SCHOOL FOR TWO YEARS AT THE SUBJECT INSTITUTION. Otherwise the scholarship would count against the football totals including initial counters and total allowed.

Good try, but unfortunately it is illegal.

No flame intended, just information.

LOL!

First of all the Bryant scholarship is a scholarship given to the children of former Bryant players. Jake Wingo will probably end up at Bama because of it. Also Tide if you read the first few sentences in the article link it says that Manson is still committed but is looking around. Face it I'm right and you can't stand it. Markus won't leave unless he thinks he can be a first year player at another school. He really likes Zook and his staff.

Patriot, I know you're good buddies with Jebron and that's nice but don't you think that if Jebron even approached being as good as DJ Williams, he would've gotten more publicity? Whether or not I know him is irrelevant. Whether the recruiting services and college scouts know him is more important.

And no, it IS stupid to even try to circumvent NCAA rules with having players take or accept different types of scholarships just to get them on the field. Smaller schools may do that and might get away with it but Alabama can't afford to try that. Maybe you haven't heard but the Tide is on probation. That means, if you mess up again, it could and probably would mean the death penalty for the program.

Tide, do these greyshirts mean that the Tide can get them and they can work out with the team during the spring and they do not count against our 19 signees, then they will have to be redshirted untill the next year before they can sign/play.. Sorry Tide, I just don't really understand all of the recruiting stuff.

I also wanted to ask how many Bama players can we sign next year. Is it 25 signees or how many.

I have been a non-drunk;non-redneck Bama Fan for 30 years and I'm going on a limb and say that Bama "WILL" whip alot of teams next year and I'm so tired of hearing this Sly Croom stuff being matched up against what Coach Shula can do.
I hope Coach Croom well, but when I hear these idiots talk about how they think he is going to do a better job by listening to what someone says during his press conference and not his "College" coaching skills....
