So we are at 23 commits right now, provided they all stick, I am guessing we still have room for 5-6 of course we will have a better idea in a few weeks after the early signing period. Who do we feel like we have a good shot at taking this last few spots. The class looks really solid right now but a couple more studs especially on defense would be nice.

Based on what I'm hearing
RB-Zach Evans (LSU lean), Jase McClellan (Oklahoma commit) , and Jahmyr Gibbs (GT commit). Alabama will take ONE of these three guys OR just stay put with the two excellent RB commits that they have...since it looks like Brian Robinson will return for his senior season
WR-Rakim Jarrett (LSU Commit), Kayshon Boutte (LSU commit), Arian Smith, Xzavier Henderson, and Brian Robinson (heavy FSU lean). Bama's best shot is with Arian Smith and/or Rakim Jarrett
TE-Darnell Washington, and JJ Pegues (Auburn lean)...Bama will wait to see what Washington decides and could POSSIBLY look to Pegues or go grad transfer route
OL-Bama will most likely flip Javion Cohen from Auburn and be done
DL-McKinley Jackson, Alfred Collins, and Jordan Burch. Bama will have to wait it out and see what happens with them
LB-It's Phillip Webb (LSU lean) or bust. Webb is leaning LSU but Alabama gets his last official visit. Alabama currently has the best LB class in the country....they won't take another LB if they miss on him. He is just an elite talent.
CB-I believe Alabama gets Ronald Williams

Good break down on the individual positions. I do think at RB we can forget about Evans my understanding is the staff has moved on from him.

This bodes well for a critical position of need!

If I'm considered a hot LB recruit, why not come to Bama with the needs we have there and the track-record we have of putting guys in the league???

The staff did have concerns with him, but they did still recruit him and visited him after his off field issues. He also visited campus after those issues as well, that is why I still listed him. I expect him to commit to LSU tomorrow, but his recruitment has been so crazy...I wouldn't be surprised with him ending at any of the schools on his list.

Bama has the best LB group in the country....man o man I hope they all make it and stay and contribute. We have such a huge need there.

Need to shore up that DL too...add depth and rotate rotate rotate.

I see the where Lee Hunter committed to the boogs. He is the #2 player in the state. I haven't really seen him on the recruiting forum. Was he pretty much an AU guy anyway?

Hunter is a stud and Alabama will continue to recruit him. he's a 2021 commit .long ways to go. just a reminder , Q. Robinson, Kennedy and Q. Williams were all auburn commits at one time.

I just read through this, and are you telling me that we have 5 to 6 slots and everybody we want is already committed elsewhere and we are trying to flip? This concerns me because in general we will flip perhaps one on sighing day and we tend to lose at least one as well. So who would be the other players? Please tell me we are not back to the Shula days where we just tossed around extra scholarships at the end to marginal players.

we are after the same big fish as everyone else. This is far from the Shula years. Early signing day is approaching and we have a great class ready to lock down, and then focus will shift to needs and the big dogs who didn’t sign. Saban doesn’t waste scholarships on people he doesn’t think will help the team. I will say he’s struck out on the defensive side in recent years, but you can’t blame him if they cracked in the crucible.

I’m positive we aren’t back to the Shula days

Seriously, how did you go there? We are going to have a top 3 class and will land several big fish to add to our already stellar class.

As far as uncommitted players, we are all over TE's Washington and Pegues, WR Arian Smith. LB Phillip Webb and DL McKinley Jackson . Please do not be concerned at all.

Step away from the ledge.....Lol Yes Alabama is going after a few players who are committed. Javion Cohen (Auburn commit) is all but flipped to Alabama...and things are trending Alabama's way with Jase McClellan....Gibbs is a back up IF Alabama doesn't get McClellan and decide that want a 3rd RB...we already have two very good ones committed. Alabama is also going after two LSU WR commits who have shown a lot of interest in Bama, but we still have three very good WR commits. Alabama still has uncommitted targets they are going after, but in today's day and age...you never stop receuiting kids until they sign especially when they express heavy interest in your program. I expect Alabama to close strong and by no means are we are back in the Shula years. Lol

Really funny post! Did Shula ever have a class in the top 30? Anyway, one good story from the Shula ad-hoc school of recruiting was a kid that showed out in the Alabama-Misssissippi All Star Game. A stud by the name of Wallace Gilberry. Last time I checked that dude was still in the League.
