Remember RB Lavarus Giles from 2 years ago? He's in JUCO now and he's BITTER!

LOL, that's a hoot. He kind of reminds me a little bit of Dennis Void (although Void was just full of himself, not bitter). Anyone know what happened to old Void?
 
Giles was a whole lot of trouble from the start. This was the guy that had his female HS principal handling his recruiting if I remember correctly. There was some sort of accussation of misconduct alledged in his recruiting process. I can't believe Coach Woods still calls him. He was probably second string for an attitude adjustment. What player does not talk to his HC?

BENOIT — Lavarus Giles was always a step ahead on the football field. He remained in that position on Monday afternoon when he announced he will attend the University of Alabama in the fall.
"I have made this decision," Giles said, "with the help of my grandmother."
Last week, a report in the Clarion-Ledger quoted Rosa Lawrence saying Giles was headed to Oxford. But Giles said the reason he verbally committed to Ole Miss was purely based on distance.
"My grandmother thought (Alabama) was too far away," Giles said. "After she realized that it wasn't that far, I picked Alabama.
"The people there were really nice to me, and I just felt like it was home."
Crimson Tide fans should be happy to hear that sentiment. According to Ray Brooks head football coach Butch Inmon, they will be getting an unfinished work of art.
"He's got God-given talent and a huge upside," Inmon said. "A wealth of potential will be tapped, because we haven't coached him to any degree of what he's capable of."
In two years with the Tigers, Giles was used at different positions on both offense and defense. However, the 6-foot-1-inch, 210 pounder will suit up at running back in Tuscaloosa.
Now that the decision has been made, Giles will be able to get a good night's sleep.
"It's been real hard. It kept me up at night, I've had headaches and missed work," Giles said. "I'm glad it's over with."

There were a lot more disturbing things I know about concerning Giles.

Anyone remember Grandma in the background on the phone conversation saying "They's millionairs in da house".

Here is what I was told, the school superintendent where Giles went to school was promised a job in MS making over 6 figures if Giles went to Bama, or another school other than UM, and came from someone at MSU, apparently they did not want the kid to go to Old Miss. There is more but that is what you were referring to. ;)

Oh yes I remember now. I am refering to his background, attitude, the grandmother, the superintendent (allegations by him that she pressured him to change his commitment to Alabama), the coach, the MSU boosters dirty allegations, etc. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole if I were a Bama coach.

Lavarus Giles first committed to Ole Miss then switched to Alabama and then seven hours later he told the Mobile Register that he would sign with Ole Miss which he did two days later.
 
I think Ole Myth and Mr. Giles are well suited. However, his JUCO tale should be cautionary tale to any HS athlete wanting to play D-1 football -- take care of the schoolwork!!!
 
Athletes don't need to keep their grades up if they are planning to go the the barn or utk. All they have to do is send $399 to the University School in Miami and they will fix them right up with their correspondence courses.
