Richt Closed UGA's Practices

Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking "special" jerseys and closed practices doesn't sound loosey-goosey

Don't misunderstand me. I do not agree with it. As I said, I much prefer CNS's approach.

I just disagree from the standpoint of CMR letting the "hype" of the game get to him as some have suggested and citing the jerseys, closed practices, comments etc as examples.

Again, I am seeing the same things as you. Just with a different view. To me it looks like the things a "player's coach" would be likely to do.

No doubt about it. Its funny you bring that up because Tony Barnhart on a weekly radio show discussed that exact thing today. The comment was made that Richt was becoming a younger Bobby Bowden. Seems pretty appropriate. I dont think there is any doubt that CMR is a "player's coach."

You and I are seeing the same things. Just looking at them a little differently.

And we Bama fans know all too well how those coaches fare in the end...

And UGA fans continue to wonder why they have 1 or 2 let down games a year and can't seem to get to championship games under Richt...

nick saban is an excellent football coach,no doubt about it his record speaks for itself. however, i disagree with people who think he is in coach richts head. i think it may very well be the other way around. keep in mind that the last time coach saban came to athens with lsu they were taken apart 44-16. i am sure coach saban remembers that. it may very well be a motivating factor for him but it may also be somewhat of a concern to him simply because he knows that the home field advantage will probably be a large factor in saturdays game. in my opinion coach richt is not rattled he appears to be loose and relaxed. if i am not mistaken coach richt has been to three sec championsip games, winning two of the three not to mention three sugar bowls winning two of the three, not to bad imo

I agree that all the pressure is on the dawgs. I also agree that we have the psychological edge. I expect us to come out and hit em in the mouth early and see how they react.

And if the Fighting Beavers keep things going tonight, there's even more pressure on the dawgs.

My favorite line of the week "it's not the biggest game of the year, just the next one." That jacks me up!!! We're ready baby!!!

I just think you take a big risk when you place so much influence on emotion. If you come out and things go your way, it can generate great results-- like the ones Georgia fans saw last year against Florida, Auburn, and Hawaii. However, when you are that emotional charged and things go wrong it can be a recipe for disaster. I have a lot of respect for Georgia and Richt, but you don't see national championship teams relying on gimmicks like that.
