Rolando's Tackling Ability

Rolando is definately a great tackler. Not always a great form guy, but he seems to have a trememdous amount of strength when he reaches the ball carrier, and that gives his hits that ideal "stop-you-in-your-tracks" quality.

And he hasn't even been through the off season conditioning program yet.

Like i said earlier, give him a full year in a college S&C program and you have the makings of a MONSTER. He was playing high school ball last year at this time. I never got to see him play, but i can only imagine the havoc he caused on the field. Geez!

No conditioning program?:PDT_Armataz_02_52:
I hope you have an army ready, because that is what it will take to stop this guy next year!

You just know he played against some awful HS teams last year. Imagine being a 175lb QB in the pocket or a 160lb WR running a slant with a monster like RM headhunting. Scary thoughts.

S&C is important but just imaging when he figures out what the offense is doing after a couple of years in this system. Also the talent around him will be much improved and he will be calling the defense like Mustin. It will be amazing to watch. I just get nervous because he does remind me of Marvin Constant they are so much alike but I think McClain is better. I think Marvin was a redshirt.

I do love Mustin though, he is just a tough heady football player.

I know he worked some with Coach Eyer over in B'ham some as far as weight training goes last Spring before he got to T-town and he pushes his guys pretty hard. However, you are right, this kid is going to be a freak over the next few years if he trains hard. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that I have a feeling he is going to outgrow the LB spot. He may be putting fingers down if he grows to much more and I actually would love to see him stay at LB and turn into another Shawn Merriman.

Speaking of S&C, if you compare Ro's arms to Mustin's, you can tell that Mustin has been through the S&C summer program. I can't wait to see Ro next year after hitting the weights in the off-season.

Mustin's definitely appear to be more developed/defined - but Rolando's height makes it hard to visualize just how big he is if you're not seeing him in person.

Reading about his workouts with Coach Eyer over the summer, it's obvious even he was impressed with Rolando's work ethic. I hope he stays at middle linebacker - with his intelligence and height advantage he should quickly be able to read/react to an offense, and with his athleticism and a solid supporting cast we'll see them punishing offenses for 3 more years.

I am an alumn of WP in Cullman County. They played Rolando last year. The Wp quarterback might be 140lbs. I bet he has nightmares.
