Rotating SECCG venues?

I was at the SECCG's in B'ham, outside. While Winter in the South usually proves to be warm, its also unpredictable.

Yeah, this is what our friends in the ACC seem to be forgetting. They are going to move their championship game to Charlotte in two years and I really see that as a disaster.

Charlotte is closer to the bulk for the ACC schools than Jacksonville or Tampa, but most of those schools aren't big players on the football stage. Weather in Charlotte might be warm and in the 60s or it might be sleeting, windy and in the 30s. If SEC fans weren't happy with that kind of weather, just imagine how ACC fans will jump ship.

I sorta like the Georgia Dome. It's a nice venue and it's far enough away from Athens to be considered a neutral site. It's also close enough to most of the fans (except for R-Kansas) to allow for travel.

If UGA is playing in the SECCG in Atlanta, it is a stretch to consider the Georgia Dome a neutral site. LSU has had to deal with that scene, and it ain't neutral.

Nothing wrong with Atlanta as a site, but I do think it should rotate. If dome stadiums are a must, then let's go to New Orleans every other year. That should be a neutral site for all concerned.

personally, I'm torn, We wouldn't be having this conversation if the two games in Birmingham had better weather, it was unfortunate. that coupled with the fact Bama was the dominant western team then and Spurrier didn't like the Bama home field advantage. With the rise of Georgia as a power in the east the last 6 years or so, It may be time to revisit the SECCG venue argument! like the dome/warm weather argument, but the week before the game most teams play outdoors in gmes that affect the CG!
