Does anyone know anything about Roy's recovery from his neck spasms and surgery? I seem to remember CNS saying that he had a similar procedure and that Roy just needed to rest the neck. Will he be ready for spring? Is there any talk that this could be career threatening? I think that Roy will be a very imporatant part of our rushing attack, especially with Glen Coffee moving on to the NFL. Thanks and RTR.

Anytime you have a neck injury its tough to recover from. I think he might be ready for the spring, but its all according to how his recovery goes. Roy has been through a lot during his time at Alabama. Really its just a wait and see thing at this point.

I sure hope that he fully recovers. He made a drastic improvement this year when it came to blocking and catching passes out of the backfield. He impressed me! We actually missed him more during the Florida game(I think he might have played a couple of snaps, but not many) than Florida missed Percy Harvin....imo

If he fully recovers he has a shot at being a huge part of the offense next season. Roy showed he can catch the ball out of the backfield and push it up field with authority. He also can run between the tackles as well. Now that Coffee is gone I bet Roy is going to bust his tail to take FULL advantage of this surprising opportunity.

Roy could very well be the most talented and polished back we have. We really need him especially with his pass catching abilities!

i dont have any inside info but it is looking like a situation where he could be a medical casualty.

Boy I sure hope you're wrong. That little fake by JPW and Roy's run on the TD in the UGA game is my favorite play of the year. Beautiful play, beautiful execution by all involved and great run by Roy. Plus it was like an ice-pick to the heart for the Dawgs.

Get well, Roy.

Yeah, anytime you're talking about a head/neck/spine injury, I'm pessimistic about a player's chances of returning. Especially a running back or a linebacker.

I would love to have Roy back at full speed, especially since he began to fulfill a lot of his promise last season, but I'm kind of just assuming he's not going to be able to go. Hope I'm wrong.

In any case, here's to a full recovery and long-term health for Mr. Upchurch. :BigA:

Yea, we just have to just pray and just wait and see. The good thing is, there is a possibility that he may return healthy so I'm just going to hold onto that.

Sooooo...can a mod or someone who knows answer the original question? This guy was truly blossoming into his role when he got hurt. I'd love to see him back out there one day.

My thoughts exactly I seen this during the season, he was the better pass catcher. Hopefully his running will be stronger to make him a better duel threat.:BigA:

Is his problem Spinal or more in the muscular? I know they said he was having muscle spasms in his neck, but just wandering exactly what kind of surgery he was having ( Without breaking HIPPA Violations).
