I bet they also think it's pretty cool.I’m going to attempt a 20 mile run early in the morning, I have my route mapped out and left two small bottles of water at the 10 mile mark for me to finish on the remainder of my run. My wife and 14 year old son thinks that I’m nuts.
Well not as I would have liked it to go. I hit the wall after mile 8. I started cramping in my upper thighs, both hips, back, and arms and shoulders. At this point my pace was in the 14:30 pace range, but the start of mile 9 came with head winds along the boardwalk which coupled with my fatigue pretty much finished me. I decided to cut it short and finish for the half marathon instead as they ran both the same time. I walked the remaining miles and struggled to get to the finish line, it was probably the longest 4 mile walk that I had ever taken. Thank god for benches along the boardwalk as I made use of them for rest breaks. I would say not getting enough sleep might have contributed too, but I just could fall asleep in the hotel room. I’m guessing I had about 6 hours sleep before getting up to eat at 5am.

Mile 1 was 11:47 and 2 was 13:33. , but 3 to 8 was between 14:36 and 15:09 and walking 9-13was 18:52 to 23:39, I was a half mile shy of the 13.1. I made the best of it and will give it another try next year.
