I just want to see more of the Tide closer to home, my home that is. Don't we owe East Carolina a game? We only beat them by 1 in 1998 and we haven't played @ Maryland since 1974.

I would be all for it too because Rutgers is close to me too.

And NJBAMAFAN77, we also have a game @ Penn St. coming up one of these years. I forget which.
I don't mind scheduling Rutgers and all but I'm kinda with every one else. I would rather play a team like Texas or Ohio State or USC if we are gonna start mixing up our ooc schedule. I will never say rutgers would have definitely beat us laster year. They looked horrible in several games. They won but they still looked bad. I know we did too however we were playing teams on a different level most of the year. Hawaii probably would have beat them. I could be wrong they may end up in the BCS next year which would be great more competition the better. I just don't wanna schedule them like they are an ooc power house. If we do that lets actually schedule one.

We have no right to be that arrogant. We've had to struggle against the weak sisters of CFB recently. Last season, Rutgers would have crapped in our helmets and handed them back to us.
True, we've been weak the last couple of years. But Rutgers has only had one good year. By the time 2009 rolls around I expect a Saban coached Bama team to easily handle Rutgers. If we don't we have serious problems.

I dont know what the Jersians would do with all of the motor homes
ive been to piscataway. nice town!
LOL - yeah, not sure what Rutgers would do with the RVs. We could hold the tailgating party at my place. I am in NJ, about an hour from the Rutgers campus...

Not very interesting to me . I'd rather play TxT or TCU . Either of those would bring a larger return in recruiting .:cool2:

Besides , Schiano will be gone and the Soprano's will be over .

if memory serves me correct, we played Rutgers back in the early eighties in one of Coach Bryant's last seasons. I think we played them at the meadowlands and won handily. I would have no objection to playing them again. As a matter of fact, considering that their home is in the largest TV market in the country, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Coach Moore is trying to negotiate a deal. This would give our program great exposure in the most densely populated part of the country and would be good for recruiting, if nothing else.

1980 Fifth Game of the Season

The gracious Bryant said, “We didn’t beat Rutgers. All I can say is we won.”

Doubtless, the biggest win of the Burns era was the 13-7 upset of Tennessee on November 3, 1979 at Knoxville. Burns called it “the greatest of my coaching career.”

If my memory serves me correctly the last time we played Rutgers it was snowing to beat all get out and we just barely survived with a win. They gave us all we wanted and then some. Great game, great win.

I would love a home and home with Rutgers. The wife and I go up to NYC every summer/fall to visit my parents. It would be awesome to catch a BAMA football game and Yankees baseball game in the same trip.... (Assuming the game was the season opener....)
