  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I have to imagine the committee is using stuff like this and know Alabama is one of the four best teams. We will be in if any of the top four falter. I'm not even worried about that...I'm more worried about us playing like we deserve it if we get there.

I agree, that's what I've been saying to everyone

BAMA will be a better team a month from now. (1) Coach Saban has a history of preparing his teams for the post season. (2) The defense will have another month to heal up. BAMA will be a much different team given time for the young men to heal up. Just My Opinion.
If BAMA does make the playoff, BAMA will the team that nobody wants to play.

Utah St and Oklahoma say hello.

Is there a BCS simulator out there today that we could look at to see where the teams would be if the BCS were still in play?

Here it is, but not so favorable for Bama right now.

Not surprised to see that the committee is still getting it right. Thanks.

I would be careful talking trash if I was a Georgia fan? How did that black out game work out for you? Did #1 Georgia even show up @ the Barn? All I saw was an overrated team lay an egg on the Plains. Yes, Bama lost @ Auburn, but Georgia did not exactly take care of business at the plains.

In this scenario we would need to happen what we now need to happen. Ohio State beating Wisconsin or TCU beating Ok.
True, but my fear would be that if OSU would beat a #2 Wisconsin (BCS) as opposed to a #4 Wisconsin (CFP) then I think the BCS would very likely jump OSU over us.

If the committee looks at Sagarin SOS that will not help Bama as they have 2nd easiest schedule out of the top 8 teams. Only WI ranks lower. Personally I'm not a Sagarin fan, but if that's a standard being used then the SOS portion is not favorable, though overall is.

Right, but they lost 2 of the games on that schedule which is why I prefer weighted SoS formulas, like the one used by ESPN. Essentially, Alabama has a top 4 schedule when their W/L record against that schedule is taken into account.

What good is it to have the toughest schedule if you lose the games?

yup...i'd rather not go than go and lay an egg like OSU did last year.
