Sam Mcguffie

I checked out his high school in Texas and it is a big school. There was over 3000 in the 9th thru 12th grades.

Has anyone seen an actual time for his speed. I had a friend tell me it was sub 4.3. Please understand this is only rumor and I am asking here because I know someone will have his real speed available.

His Scout profile has him listed at 4.4. Thats probably just info from him or his coaches at this point. Later this summer after he goes through some of the camps we should get a definative answer. FWIW, Rivals doesnt have any forty time listed for him.

No doubt I'd like to see him in crimson, regarless of his number. It would be exciting to see him go around the league and tear up some turf and leave a legacy in the annals of Tide football.

But,,,,,,,with his name and by looking at his necklace, he'd also be a natural at the cursed Notre Dame. A shame, but if we can't get him, I sure as hell hope they don't get him.

I read about this recruit from Cy-Fair high school in Texas on another thread but i can't find it again. I think he looks good enough to have his own thread. What do yall think. He has several videos on youtube and he looks amazing. He had
over 3200 yards last year as a junior with 44 touchdowns. Rivals has his vertical jump at 45".

If he is that good then why does he just not go to the 2008 draft instead of 2008 Sighning Day???

Can't......gotta be (I believe) 3 yrs out of HS to qualify for the Pros. Remember Maurice Clarrett out of Ohio State that sued, trying to leave college for the pros. as a soph?

Whoops I forgot my ;) and I have seen some players like Sydney Rice leave after his SOPH and yes Maurice Clarett what a waste the guy just threw his life away...pretty stupid.

This kid definitely explodes through the ball, what excites me is the fact CNS actually isn't afraid to go after these guys. Next recruiting class will be very exciting.

I've been working in Houston for 2 years traveling home to Mobile every couple of weeks to see the family, but I work very close the to Cy Fair area and plan to try and watch him this fall at least once. There are several top prospects in the Houston area I'm told, so the weekends I don't travel home I hope to watch several, or at least the ones we are recruiting.
I believe coach Applewhite is gonna help us in a major (lol) way in the state of Texas over the next couple of years. Right now OU is recruiting the state better than any of the in state schools, OU already has like 4 verbals from top rated Texas palyers, so sorry if off topic, but we CAN recruit this area I believe. The only good white RB I can think of recently was a kid by the name of Dan Burks. Came out of Vestavia and played for UAB. I got to see him at a UAB scrimmage last season. He only took about 5 snaps. On his last play that day he took the handoff and outran the entire UAB defense and went 80 yards for a TD. Now I know that it was only the UAB defense, but still pretty impressive none the less.

And yes I know that I already talked about Rogers and now I am talking about another Vestavia kid. What can I say, I am a Vestavia homer. ;)

No offense ment, but does anyone know of the last good white running back? And I mean a true back, not a fullback.

That Staley kid out at BYU was a good looking back a few years ago. I wanna say he won the Doak, but he might've just been a finalist.

Brian Leonard from Rutgers is pretty good. They had a hiesman campaign going for him before this past season but they also had Ray Rice so they moved Leonard to FB and he didnt get near as many yards as last year. He is trying to loose weight now so he can hopefully move back to RB in the NFL.
