My momma always told that if I couldn't say something good about someone, then I shouldn't say anything at all. She also taught me not to lie of be deceptive.

So!

I watched the lowest-scoring football game I'll ever see there in Stark Vegas a few years back. Final score: 3-2 (Was Auburn the opponent? I don't care enough to look it up ;) ). One of the more bizarre items on my ever-lengthening football game attendance record.

Also, there's a solid coffee shop a few blocks away in downtown Starkville.

My boss & two colleagues are MSU grads, & I like all three of them.

Finally, one of my dearest friends on earth is a 2x MSU grad, & a GREAT guy. He & I attended our mauling of Arkansas last year, which was his 1st ever game in BDS.

(And just like that, I've named almost the entire list of nice-person MSU fans, sadly.)

I used to work with a nice Mississippi State fan, who liked his team, but knew they would always have trouble with Alabama. Plus, only ONE of my fellow trumpet players ever got hit in the head with an empty pint bottle thrown from 10 rows up in the stands at a game at MSU.

I like dogs.

They are not Barners.
They are the barners of Mississippi.

My grandfather went to school there. Once I was visiting him at his nursing home. He mentioned he graduated from there, but had attended prior to integration. (He didn't phrase it quite that nicely and said it very loudly).

I held my breath hoping none of mostly minority staff heard him.

Actually, they are really pretty a nice bunch over all. I know a lot of them. There are many of them here, because it's the closest high tech center to Starkville. The largest MSU alum chapter out of MS is here in HSV...

They also have a very good Aerospace Engineering program from which my Son has a very fruitful degree. Fear not, he is, and always has been Alabama to the core, but a higher rated program, instate tuition, etc, sent him there. As for the PGM program, he had three PGM roommates his Senior year which led him to now have his home on a golf course.

They have some pretty nice casinos. I don't gamble, but I did spend a weekend at the Golden Moon a few years back. The best thing I remember about it is the cafeteria. You can walk in there virtually any time of day or night and feast off the massive buffet. Breakfast on one end and steaks & seafood on the other? Wow.

If I'am not mistaken I believe Jason Simpson (weather man on WHNT News out of Hunstville) is a Mississippi Grad.
