SCOTUS and Roe - Part 3

I don't speak for tribalists, but if the guy has a problem following the rules, perhaps he shouldn't be in the military? He only resigned his command, not his commission.
Yes, so he's no longer in a position to have to allow something that goes against his religious beliefs. No hissy-fits, no lawsuits - just stepping down.

That's more courageous than whining, I've no idea how you can call standing up for your convictions being a 'snowflake', unless in your opinion it just means someone you disagree with.

The confusion is yours. I am a capitalist based on education and professional experience. My opinions on the subject would fall in line with fellow capitalists. I have no reason to be shy about that. Likewise, you shouldn't be shy about your leftist tribalism. It's evident in your posts. Own it. It's ok.
So your position is that you're just as much a tribalist as I?

“deeply held religious beliefs” my butt. one of the biggest cop outs being used these days
Do you have no deeply held religious beliefs? If so, would you compromise those if rules were put in place at your workplace or just 'go along' to avoid 'copping out'?

i stopped taking fundies in good faith about their public statements of “deeply held religious beliefs” a long time ago.

Again, the things I have strong opinions about are underpinned by graduate level education and years professional experience that tests that education. Tribalists have opinions based on emotions or something and tend to lack consistency of thought. It's not just one tribalist side that does this.

because this has nothing to do with me, it is about fundies cynically using their religion to bludgeon others
Isn't this true of any ideology? I see far more zealotry in political ideology than I have ever seen in religion and I grew up in a fundamentalist religious background. I eventually left it and honestly don't have a lot of good things to say about it, but what I'm seeing in modern societal discourse makes them look like passive know-nothings at this point.

OK, so to recap: You decided to comment on a situation about which you, by your own admission, knew very little about. To mask your inability to make an informed argument on the situation, you went for an ad hominem attack by labeling me a tribalist.

I'll give you this: You're consistent.

I will give him credit for not making a fuss--it is Sanders who is making an issue of it.

That's a very bizarre and dishonest take. But, whatever works for you. Go tribe!

Because someone else made it a story?

Please explain how someone else using his actions signifies his use of religion to oppress others.
it is being used by gov sanders that way and she is the one exploiting his “deeply held religious beliefs”. whether or not he was complicit in that or not, i don’t know and don’t really care.

and i will add (and as mentioned in all of the previous abortion threads) the widespread idea that abortion is at its core murder/taking of a life, is a relatively recent deeply held religious belief that just so happened to coincide with the rise of the religious right as political force in this country

I mean, that's kinda the crux of it, but okay.
